Ok I finally got a SNES cable hacked into an RGB21 to output to my XRGB2+. When I got it hooked up, the picture looked EXCELLENT. Leaps and bounds from when i first hooked it up using S-video. However there is one problem, the colors are extremly washed out and the "contrast" (sorry, i dont know what the term is for this) is too "bland".

For example, everything appears to have a hue of light light gray/white to it, and its hard to tell the different of similar and bright colors. An example of this would be final fantasy 3, when someone hits you, the it points look light gray instead of pure bright white, and when you get healed, inside of looking pure bright green it looks very smiliar to how the numbers look when they hit you.

What am trying to say is what I originally said, the colors are extremly washed out.

I cant remember where, but I read somewhere that you need to have some capacitors hooked up to the red, blue, and green line or something. Is this true? If so what capacitors?

Hi

You should try with some 220µF capacitors on the R, G, B and Composite wires. (composite wire is used, even in RGB mode)

I had the same problem after i modded a Master System 2 with an RGB output... the image was OK but the colours looked odd... i just happened to have 4x220µF caps i just took off a Gamecube RGB cable i wanted to use with my Euro SNES. I used them on the Master System cable that didn't work properly, and everything went fine!

When you say composite wire... you mean the composite sync wire right? And as far as the 220µF caps, do I use non-polar or polarized caps? I think I read that you are suppose to use non-polar ones.

Hi... yes the composite / sync wire... this is the same

I don't really know what you mean about polarized or non-polarized caps, as i don't really do electronics... but mine were labelled with "+" and "-" pins.

The "+" pin goes to the console side and the "-" pin goes to the TV side of the wires.
