The original or greatest hits? I haven't seen SOTN go for less than $80 mint- on ebay at least?

So what's your point? Too high, too low? Lemme know. I just bought that for $96. Maybe I got raped? Somebody before me was willing to pay $90....

For a used greatest hits, it worth that much. Isn't that a $20 game. (that how much I brought it for anyway)May be i should be my copy too, hm....

Just wanted to know what was the difference between the original and greatest hits version. In price.

Well, I heard somebody (I don't remember) say that Super Puzzle Fighter II and Castlevania SOTN were the rarest PS games. There was another but I forget.

I've seen used copies go for around $40 for the greatest hits, and I was watching it for about a month before I decided to fork over the dough. In fact, my new one is the only new one I've seen.

So, yes, supply is far less than demand.

YOu now what? I also have the CD and artbook that came with the original as a freebie when you pre-ordered it. Not letting that go though!

NEWSFLASH

SOTN is not rare, definetly not the greatest hits version which was 19.99 retail.

Do you know WHY they released a greatest hits version? Because the first version sold so many copies! <img src="graemlins/tickled.gif" border="0" alt="[Tickled]" />

Anyways I hope you find a sucker.

BTW not accusing you of anything, but everytime I see some "rare" american game claimed to be "Shrinkwrapped" it's just re-shrinkwrapped, because unlike Jap games, most US games are just in generic plastic.

For the greatest hits version, in mint condition, anywhere from $20 - $35 tops. I'll sell you a near mint one if you are looking for it. It has light cleaning scratches. I thought about putting it up on eBay soon, but I would sell it for $25 shipped to U.S.
It's just that I have 3 of this game now. 1 original, and 2 GH's.

I also have 1 sealed, and had 1 mint Drac X for Saturn. I just sold the mint opened one for $65 on eBay. Still have the sealed one. Now I think that's a rare game. There's always at least 10 SOTN's on eBay.

Well, I think I'm just going to hold onto it. Who knows what's up in a year or so. I can't find it ANYWHERE though, and EB is selling their pre-owned (even the greatest hits) at 29.99 now- if they have any. Looks like I got suckered. But, I kid you not, if you want to see the auction, check it. Too late for me, I already paid (but naturally, regret doing so).

The thing about eBay is, everything pops up sooner or later. I've seen 5 sealed SOTN's on there in the past month and 1/2, 2 originals and 3 GH's and the 2 originals went for $70 and $80 and the GH's went for $45, $50 something and $91. I still have it on my favorite searches from when I was looking for my first copy and I still check it periodically. There might be a few months before you see one again, but you will see one eventually.
Watch out for the low feedback (<5) bidders too. They jack the price way up on everything.

Don't dismiss it just yet. Keep in mind mine- the one I won, was new. People are willing to pay a lot more for new stuff. I did and do.

As for the shrink-wrap skeptic, you're wrong. It's easy to see if it's been re-shrinked. NEW games have the tape seal with title/serial# at the top Under the wrap, and the wrap has the peely thing.

I think it depends on the company. I've seen new American CD's with the bar code sticker, the little hologram seal, and the peel away wrap, and I've seen games that had just a plain jane shrink wrap like the MOTW I just bought for DC. I'm not even sure if it was new with such a plain shrink.

You've got things confused, an original release of SOTN sealed is worth about $100. Which I have by the way, I'm not selling though!
