Player2 A button works inconsistently

Hi all,

My MVS big red 4 slot player 2 A button has begun to work inconsistantly. I can't really say it "sticks" it just seems to respond only once every second or third time it's pressed.

I did some basic searches. But failed to find any good info. Is there a "basics of troubleshooting" for these controls? Any helpful advice appreciated.

Seems like nothing more than a microswitch is failing, which is a easy fix. Just change out that switch. But if you want to be sure go into the shot test screen in the test menu, I think its dip switch one on the motherboard. Now get a jumper wire & place one end of it to ground. Now go to the button thats giving you problems and place the other end of that wire on the contact under the button. If the test menu goes from 0 to 1 then the board OK and the button the problem.
