Hello all.

I consolized an MV-1F about a week ago and am having dificulty getting stereo from it.

Here is a picture of how I've wired the stereo output pins into my SCART connector:

The 'stereo/mono' switch is working and it is in the stereo position.
As you can see, I've wired both of the audio GND (-) pins to the single audio GND of my SCART connector.

There is no seperation in the audio test screen or in-game.

Any ideas would be appreciated, fellas.

mvs

Well first of all you should connect to the headphone pins and not the speaker outputs on your mvs board...

You only need to run 1 audio ground connection, also double check your L and R on your scart plug..

Surely the headphone output and speaker output are the same except for the volume levels attainable. They're both supposed to be stereo.

I did think about using a single audio GND but they appear to be common.

I already checked the lead, it's fine.
It's the same lead that I use on my Consolized MV-6F and handheld MV-1C and all systems have the same pinout on the A/V socket.

What if I connected the audio GND wire to the audio GND on the edge connector?
Whould that make a difference?

I seem to rememner there is a good reason to use the headphone out instead of speaker.

I used headphone on mine and it worked out great!

Do you have an MV-1F?

I used the speaker pins on my 6F with no problems.

I'll give the headphone connector a try though.

I consolized my own MV-1F about 2 years ago. I have since sold the mobo, but I remember most of the details about it.

The speaker level output is far too high to connect to a scart socket...
one other thing have you connected the +12v on the jamma connector, you will need that for sound...

Indeed I have. I was getting sound, but it was mono.

Many thanks, Lashujin. :)

I took your advice and moved my audio wires en masse to the headphone side.
Glorious stereo can now be heard. :)

I am a happy bunny.

One thing though: When I put the audio switch in the MONO position, it increases the volume a little bit but the sound is still stereo.

In this instance, what is the desired position for the switch?
Does it matter?

Thanks again, fellas.
