Looks awesome, How small do you think you could get one that would work with American TVs?

the case wouldn't need to be much bigger, but the problem is that most cases aren't all that nice and finding a case with specific measurements is even harder.

the case i used is 12.9cm x 4cm x 2.45cm. (1" = 2.54cm)
there are similar cases that are like 14cm x 6cm x 4cm, but they're a bit too big, imo.

The first supergun i got was from arcade heaven and was about the same size and shape as the raven games one and it was absolutey horrid, the sound never worked that well and the controller ports were sega saturn ones which aint that great to use for beat em ups.

the one i have now is a nice compact box like the ones kernow did and has ports for neo pads so its easier to use and store.

Yeah, the ravengames one is a piece of shit

... It's supposed to be very old (circa 99 I think), I bought it second hand from an UK member in 2002 when I was a total n00b (first purchase in this forum, of course first supergun too). I had a lot of trouble with it and had to mod/repair it myself a lot of times. On a funny note it's the only supergun I can get sound from my PGM mobo, because it features a switch for sound, I checked the wiring change it causes, I might try to make the same switch in my Supergun 2.

Most people who wanted to buy a supergun before the "boom" of europe-fabricated ones here in Spain bought a Supergun 2. Looks like somebody imported them from Hong Kong and sold them for outrageous prices. No kidding, when I was looking for a supergun in 2002, I asked those people and they quoted me a price of 360€ for one. People was actually paying those prices (I have friends who bought it for that price) as they found it cheap when compared to the ton of cash they would save on AES carts.
I was lucky and got it in ebay Spain for 100€, somebody who dealt with old computer stuff got one here in Barcelona in a big package and didn't know how to make it work nor had any way to try it, so he sold it as untested.
It has the same sony encoder chip for s-video and composite out as AES, something I don't need of course, it also outputes RGB through a din8, same as AES. The controller ports are db15 but originally were not wired according to the Neo Geo pin-out so I modified them. There's also room for a kick harness next to the JAMMA connector, I installed one myself.

Dani, about that PGM sound thing.

I found that having the sound in through 10 and grounded to L is the difference it seems. Weird thing is doing that it worked fine without -5V, but then when I switched back to normal ground for the sound instead of L, it continued to work fine. I'm think it's a check on startup and then fine afterwards. Need to do a bit more poking around.

Nice stuff all around!

Hey, Goose, how do you have the D-sub ports rear-mounted without screws? Held in with glue or epoxy?

What sort of error?

Was something complaining about space quota?

edit: I think it was. I had it set to 5 megs per gallery and noticed yours and several others were right at that limit.

I just bumped it up to 20 megs per gallery per person.

Try uploading some more now.

Well yes, this is the same conclusion I reached when I was checking the ravengames supergun wiring in this thread:

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103664

But I didn't know about this "startup check". Oh well. I might try to install a switch like this in my supergun 2.

More on this.

The startup check is just a hypothesis. No direct evidence it's happening.

I tried a supergun I made a while back and it works fine with PGM and it is wired simply:
Right audio = 10
Left audio = L
audio ground = ground
No attentuation circuit, no stereo/mono switch

:spock:

Now I'm starting to think the difference is the attentuation and stereo/mono switch since the other supergun that worked was the same spec as above (basically MVS superguns).

Todd asked me, if i'd like to re-register over at the sgr and share some pics. i just did :

i would have uploaded more pictures, but got some kind of an error message.

Did you hookup the RGB signal to the matching RGB pins on the scart plug?

I've been trying it but with no sucess, since the video picture, on my both tv's, gets black with the contours on white. On the my sony TV, the picture appears fine for 2, 3 sec, and then it displays as I mentioned above (when I re-switch to AV it goes trough the same pattern. On the LG tv, its black with the white countours from the start.

I hooked up the RGB, sync and its respective grounds, but the problem remains.

Did I miss something?
:conf:

#### EDIT ####

I just found the issue. I was lacking the 1,5 v on the Blanking Pin on the SCART plug.

Issue solved :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:

I bought a second hand vhs supergun off of ebay and it has worked great for me. The only thing I had to do to it was add a -5 volt line to run the mortal kombat 2 sound board. Other then that, it has been awesome. So supergoose, even though I didn't buy it from you directly, thanks for making a great supergun.
