I've grown tired of the same repetitive b/s. I can't picture myself actually getting good at this game. So I've retired. Don't expect me on-line for the game anymore, not even Chaos, CVS2 nor AE

Smart move, online gaming is a piss anyways. Most of the time for me its more frustration then actual fun. I've seen enough 2002 athena zoners. Its gay I gotta whore out Choi to hold up against some of those athena strats. Shes such a fucking easy char to be a cheap bastard with.

Explaining shit thats lag related is a real anger inducing deal because 1) you can either lie or be honest about it.
2) even if you do win, 90% of the time the dude on the other side will make some bs excuse up to excuse it.

I like shit in RL cause no lag, someone bitches they can look like a fag in front of a crowd, not hiding behind a monitor.

take a break, yes

quiting will stop any progress

the only way to get good is to get your ass kicked repeatedly and develop from there on

Its not that, its the random element to online play. Because your connection can be good sometimes and shit the next. When you learn certain things you have somewhat of a mental timing. Constantly changing shit can make you really play just awful. In KOF I would experience this and its TOTALLY kills any fun of playing.

If you arent having a good time, its just not healthy. I dumped mame because its not that I actually badly, its that I'm not good like others in that I cannot adapt to constant fluctuation. I play very unique in the shit I do. I go for really big ass combos that cant work online and when they fail or I fuck up trying to compensate, it just becomes to much to deal with.

I'm just quitting for on-line play at least for the moment. It's just the more I play & play the more frustrated and kinda bored I get.

The sad part is that I'm learning to play fighters online.

So if I ever find people to play against in real life, I'll probably not be used to playing without lag.

And yeah, tiers and lag suck.

Big deal though.

Tiers are always going to be there and lag sure as hell won't be going away anytime soon, so I don't know why people even bother complaining about that.

Although, that's not really point.

If you're not having fun doing what you're doing, then that's all that matters.

I probably won't play another online fighter until Smash Bros. for the Revolution comes out. That will kick ass.

FINALLY!! people who think like me!

but really, even with the addition of online play it makes the game's replay value suprisingly worse (lag, cheap bitches, etc.); otherwise the ONLY good way to play is either in the arcades or at home w/ your friends in the same room.

damn hate to hear that a person is quitting XBL, cuz that means less non-dropping comp.

But come on guys, everybody was dying and crying for Online play back in the day and now we get complaints. This is just how it is. Come on now guys. I don't have a choice, Arcades are basically just non existant in Germany so XBL is like my fighting game saviour. Lag or no lag, you can still learn shit from playing on XBL. Even if I had Arcades i'd STILL play online just to see shit i wouldn't see at homestation.

I haven't played online in a good while, but why quit unless you have constant competition around at your house or a friends or at a good arcade?

It might not be exactly the same online, but it's still fucking fun.

I'm with you. I learned how to play Third Strike online. However, when I play offline I immediately notice the difference. I don't play worse, rather better offline. I met up with a bunch of SRK peeps this past month and I was holding my own against the veterans and running all over the rest on a game I picked up around 6 months ago seriously. If it weren't for online play I wouldn't be into any other fighters other than Super Turbo, AOF2, and FFS.

Same thing. I used to play only yun at my local arcade. No serious competition though. But after playing on live, learning from opponents + the brady guide, I can play competitively with most of the characters now.

The best thing about live in my opinion, is the fact that you can play with someone better than you. Which is the only way to improve IMO.

So G-Product is leaving Xbox Live? I remember he dropped on me once. Didn't want to bother playing with him since then. Had a lot of good matches with his brother though.

I actually got rid of Xbl a few weeks ago. Hadn't used it in months.

I got a lot of awesome in-person MOTW and 3rd Strike comp yesterday, while this is by no means an every day thing it's not enough to make me regret dropping the service. Sick of lag, sick of unoriginal bullshit players. I'd have thought the word would be out by now that nobody wants to play against cheesy ass ChunYunKens, but nope. Not saying I won't get Xbl back someday but it's a possibility.

As for retiring from 3S altogether, really can't identify with that.

Damn, Wes has gotten bitter in the more recent posts :kekeke:

Seriously, try some different characters. Twelve is a pile of shit and your Chun Li is downright boring. Work on that Necro of yours and you will start enjoying it more. I have lost entire rounds from one corner neutral throw to good Necro's.

Everyone peaks out. I took a month off from 3S and went from rank 72 to 160, but I have a lot more fun now.
