Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched but couldn't find it.

I need to know exactly what Backup RAM battery the MV-1F board uses.
Is it the same niCad as one would find in the 6F.

Many thanks, fellas.

Yes, a 3.6 volt with anything from 50 to say 250 mAH (not critical within reason) nicad or nimh, otherwise the charging circuit specs may become an issue. The original on my board was 55 mAH.

I used a 3.6v 280mAH niCad in my 6F

Works fine and dandy in that.

I shall order the same battery for my 1F.

I've got an 80 mA 3.6v NiMH battery in both my 1F and my 4 slot. (had to run leads off my 4 slot board, though, 'cause it won't fit between the boards)

For the 4 and 6 slot you really need the flatter type pcb mounting rather than the axiel type (leads at each end).

Wouldn't a NiMH battery be better for the long run as they don't tend to loose charge if you charge them before they're spent?

Yep, a NiMH is a good upgrade from the original NiCd. Remember that the charging characteristics are different- but thats not critical with this application.
