Is this a boot? If not, what is it?

I apologize in advance for posting this in multiple places, but I don't know exactly where I should post this.

I recently bought a King of Monsters 2 MVS kit, and it had this white sticker on the left side of the cart.

Since EVERY picture that I have ever seen of the kit comes with this white sticker on the left side of the cart, I figured that this was just how it came.

But, I'm paranoid about boots, etc, so I tried to look through the little louvers on the back of the cart to see if I could check out the chips.

One looked a little odd, so I opened it up to check.

I don't know much about this kind of thing, but there are some different kinds of chips here.

So, it got me thinking.

A. Is this legit?

B. If so, are all King of Monsters 2 with the white sticker on the cart just like this one?

C. If so, why were they all made this way?

It almost seems as though the ones with white stickers (if they are NOT all made with the white sticker) are refurbished or something along those lines.

Anyway, I would GREATLY appreaciate any information, insight, expertise, comparisons, etc on this.

I just need to know if the cart is a legit NEO cart, or if it's not.

If it is, what's the deal?

Thank you in advance for any help. Please refrain from conjecture/guessing, as I can do that myself, and it doesn't help a whole lot.

I know there are experts out there, and I cannot believe that this hasn't come up before.

Thanks again,
Steve

I looks like a repair job. I mean, bootleggers usually only boot the good games. :make_fac:

It's legit..made this way..I've had two of these already with the same board layout..
I've "yet to see" another chip layout for this game..
I just opened mine..Posting pics in a few.

Falls in the same boat as BAM Eprom legit carts..

Note both carts had the seals on the side of the carts this I broke..

Yep,though I thought about this the first time I saw it I never brought it up....then I got another one right after and it was the same..I really didn't want to split the seal on either of them but I just had to check them out.
Both have/had factory soldering..super clean.....One reason why I never asked about them..

Looking at the carts boards clicked this all back in my mind as I put orange electrical tape on the both of them to remind me they were the same and legit..

The windows on the EPROMS are used to blank them with UV light. There won't be much light exposure inside an MVS cart, but covering the windows with electrical tape will lessen the likelyhood that the data will be erased.

You can also tell it's likely to be legit since all of the Toshiba chips have the correct program number for King of the Monstes 2, which is 039.
