BEWARE ! the mp4 format used is still machine crippled (no, you won t be able to use nero to encode for PSP), and whatever, it still cannot go over 320x240 despite what has been said at korean launch about firmware evolution perspective.

The much-anticipated support for the advanced h.264 codec (also known as AVC) has, as expected, a dashed hope. As reported by Kai Cherry to IGN, the format SCE used for this cool codec is still hobbled by proprietary Sony settings. There is no "Video" menu on the PSP's memory stick, videos still need to be in a funky directory with a screwy name to be recognized, and only special converters are able to make videos in the new codec. IGN has yet to be able to even test out the functionality -- Sony's Image Converter 2 software is still not compatible with the format, so unless you have a Sony CLIE handheld or cellphone that can record video to AVC (or an MP4-compatible camcorder ... do they even make these yet?), you're probably out of luck in producing clips for the new codec until Sony offers an application or a hacker cracks the format.
Even then, the videos will only be 320x240, same as standard PSP MP4

btw, you cannot browse while listening to MP3, launching the music player will result in termination of the browser

How do you update old firmware? That would be pretty lousy to get a new game and not be able to play it.
