It's a fun toy of a game. Relaxing to play. I just got it in the mail today. Didn't want to wait till Nov. or whenever Nintendo decides to release it in the US.

What do the rest of you think? Especially those of you who've had it for awhile?

I think NINTENDO can take ElectroPlankton along with Nintendogs and shove em' up their ass. That's what I think. Fuckin' ElectroPlankton! :mad: *It's shit like that and Nintendo's overly GAY showcasing of it at E3 that made me wish I had been in the audience. I'd have tossed my own fecal matter at that DJ thinking he's the shit playing such a contrivance. The whole of gaming is supposed to wet themselves over this shit!? It's not that I hate the idea of someone trying to think outside the box, it's that I hate that Nintendo has gone from quality stuff like the 8-Bit Famicom and 16-Bit Famicom to being a joke 90% of the time, with only the last 10% being worth a damn, and then it's usually updates to older franchises that doesn't really say a whole lot.

Probably not the response you were looking for, but a game like ElectroPlankton is worse than dough boys jumping around on DDR machines at the mall, and everyone thinking that's what the Arcade Scene is about.

I didn't read what Merc / Stormrider / Grizzlywhateverthefuckhescallinghimselfnow said, but I'd be willing to put down money that in reference to Electroplankton, he used the word "gay" or "faggoty" a couple times and doesn't consider it manly to play a musical game with cutesy graphics.

Probably also made some nostalgic reference about Nintendo not being what they once where and whatnot.

(There's also more than likely a paragraph or two full of insane ramblings that aren't even really related to the point he was trying to make.)

On-topic: I think the game looks like fun, and I'll be picking it up at least sometime down the line.

anyway

electroplankton is awesome, if you take one and use the recording carp to make your voice backwards, and then sample it into another DS and play 'it backwards', you get the original voice, .. sortof

the guy did a concert using two DS's and this method.

god I need to purchase it soon, sucks playing my mates copy all the time.

I think you should try to broaden your gaming horizons away from games with Rambo in them.

I do play more than just RAMOesque games dawg, but I don't dig on molesting virtual plankton and making music is all. + Maybe if Nintendo hadn't made such a damn big deal over it in the manner they did at E3 I wouldn't feel insulted. But to each their own.

I don't mind Mercs comments. It's good to hear honest opinions (even those uniformed by experience).

I agree that Nintendo is pushing it too much. No matter how much they push it, I doubt it will catch on that big. Games like these never do. Better not to push it and it will succeed better. Look at Katamari Damacy. Hardly any advertising or hype when that came out. Was a hit because of good reviews and word-of-mouth.

The virtual pet thing is so 1996. I don't see myself enjoying Nintendogs that much. I don't think a microphone works in a gaming system, sorry.
