Mine does too! Have you had yours modded?

No, it has not been modded, but it's funny I cleaned my carts and it seems to be working quite well now. I wonder if it was the crud on the carts, there was a decent amount of it.

Ah, lucky you. It resets on me no matter what game I'm playing and no matter how clean the contacts are.

What I would like to know is what kind of problem this is, is it some sort of power problem, or is it the contacts, and also shouls I clean the contacts on my AES too? I dont want to wreck it.

On a modded system, check the soldering on the bios, especially if it has been piggybacked. I did that to mine and couldn't see anything wrong, until I looked closely and saw a speck of solder bridging 2 pins.

Also, my system has has a problem ever since I bought it. every now and then, while playing a game, I'll get what looks like a black 'shadow' on the right hand side of every sprite and most of the background graphics. Any idea what it could be?

What really sucks is that all of the warranties are gone, and if you break your AES it's all over. It's a weird problem that I've got, because sometimes it starts to work right for a while, and then it will mess up again... I really appreciate the help though, I myself am no expert on the Neo-Geo by any means.

Could that be PSU? Check if you got the right one for you unit.

My PSU is large, and has NO label whatsoever, it just says Caution on the front along with a Q.C. Passed Sticker. Do you think I should get a replacement JPN PSU from Neostore?

This is EXACTLY what the bottom of my AES says:

SNK NEO-GEO
MODEL NUMBER NEO-0
RATING: 8w
USE PRO-POW 3 AC ADAPTOR ONLY
SERIAL NUMBER 207215

Is that an original Neo Geo psu? Doesn't sound like it. That may be causing your random resets, but usually if you have the wrong psu the console won't work at all.

If you're getting a replacement make sure you get the 9v type. the 5v psu is for earlier versions of the aes and won't work with yours.

I bought a pro pow 3 adaptor from jgn, and I should get it tommorow, I'll let you know If it works. My PSU now is REALLY funky Looking, and has no label. When I first got it it worked fine, but now it's acting up.

Hope that works, if not try to clean the contacts of you system and games as well. If that doesn’t work, I suggest you to get it repair or buy another one.
