Hi. I need to get the replacement roms for shinobi so that I can fix the dead battery (which causes it to have no sound). If I'm seeing this right, all I need to replace are the z80 chip on the main board, and the chip at A7 on the audio board. If anyone could help me out, I'd appreciate it.

sega suicide battery boards

I think I know what your talking about. Did you just come from: http://www.arcadecollecting.com/dead/dead.html
I tried to save an Altered Beast board by doing what they said and it didn't work. Burned the replacement rom(s), replaced the 68000 processor, etc. My audio is still dead. I tried several times, nothing made the audio work. Was a waste of my time. Good Luck.

That's partially where the info came from. supposedly, I just have to replace the z80 chip (but I need to flash a new rom on it [which I don't have]), and flash rom .a7 from the mame set onto epr11372 (which I can't find for some reason) (I'm thinking that it would go into the socket A7 on the sound board, but the chip there is epr11287).

it didn't work for me

Just to let you know that I went to that site as well. I downloaded the file for the Altered Beast boardset. Followed the procedure outlined to the exact detail, and it did not work.

Yes, granted, it produced "sound", but the sound was garbled and muffled. Point is, it didn't restore the board back to it's original state with 100% flawless sound so it was a useless waste of time for me.

Maybe you will have better luck with your Shinobi. Let me know.
