Im a Noob to AES (Used to MVS) and was wanting to buy my first AES System. I have tracked down an early Serial Number AES (Serial Number: 002476) at a local shop. It is Unboxed without Instructions and without TV Connection Cables or Power Supply but its Mint and i really like the look of it! Which Power Supply would i need to get for this and which would be the best Cable to get to connect to my TV (Im in UK). Would the Power Supply/TV Connections be hard to find and cost alot? Will this Neo Display the best Output of any AES System (I heard something about low Serial Numbers)? In your opinion, would this be a good system?
They also have 2 Systems, each Boxed With Instructions, 1 has Serial Number: 072607 with New style Joystick and the other is around the same Serial Number. All 3 Systems are around the same price. Out of the 3 Systems which would you say is the best choice?

Thanks in Advance for your Input/Help.

well if you just want THE BEST picture quality possible then id go with the first AES machine as its got the lower serial (lower the serial better the SCART/RGB is and higher the serial better the Composite is)
seeing as it doesnt have a controller or power cables, video cables it isnt the best of the bunch when it comes to "the best bang for your buck" but those cables and controllers arent hard to find really , on ebay.
a Scart video cable for your Neo isnt the easiest thing to find but there out there.
now about power supply, well on the bottom of the Neo it should say Pro Pow or Pro-Pow 3 and i think there is another....but isnt common.
Pro-Pow 3 is for newer 3-5 revision Neo Boards so my guess is that its a Pro-Pow power supply that you would need.
i dont know the specs of the pro-pow power supply so i dont know what kind of generic power supply you would need in order to turn it on.
Now with those 70K systems they are still very good and will still supply you with superior SCART/RGB video quality and seeing as that 70K system has all cables and controller and even boxed for the same price, id definately go with the 70K serial number AES.
ive got a 180906 serial number Neo AES and i use the not so good composite but i still get a hella amount of fun out of it and ive heard that SCART/RGB still would make the picture quality on my machine much better than composite.

The 70k system is a GREAT system to start off with as its got the box and all things youll need to turn on youre Neo soon as you get home. GO GO :buttrock: GO :buttrock:

Well lacklan is right, finding a PSU ,controllers and cables is going to be a pain.So If I were you I would go for the other 2 systems in the shop.If you just want to have fun go for the one that has everything.

You can get scart cables damn easy and usually cost about £10 , personally I wish I got a lower serial numbered machine ( mine is 151753 ). As Ive got a more recent machine mine uses the same PSU as the mega-drive, Im not sure what you'll need for the earlier model though. Controllers are damn easy to get hold of too - as that machine is stand-alone perhaps you could give the store an offer saying that you'll need to buy two pads and the cables (you said the prices are the similar for all 3 machines).

Finally, where in the UK are you? :) Im on a quest to find someone who lives close-by that I can play neogeo with haha!
