Hi, sorry for the newbie question - i've recently bought a 2 Slot, and have built myself a supergun to play it on my tv.
The problem i'm having, is that i've hooked the 2 slot up to a female scart socket so i can use a scart lead from that to my tv. When I turn on the 2 Slot, I get the game menu up, but the screen scrolls from down to up and diagonally right to left fairly fast. Also tried it on another tv, and the screen is dark, flickering like the other tv. I know both tv's support 60hz.....
I've connected it like this scart side:
Video Red to scart pin 15
Video Green to scart pin 11
Video Blue to scart pin 7
Sync to scart pin 19 (tried it with a male scart plug on 20 - still doesn't work)
Video Ground to scart pins 17,13,9,5
+5v to scart pin 16 via a 100ohm resistor
Neo-geo side:
Red vid = 12
Green = N
Blue = 13
Sync = P
Ground = 14
All the power and grounds are also connected to the neo geo ( +5v,+12v,Grnd)
Thanks in advance :) ,
Ian.

sounds like the sync connection is on the wrong pin...or the +5v through the 100 ohm resistor..
have you tried this on another tv?

Are you sure your scart lead is fully wired??

Thanks :) will try out swapping round the sync and +5v inputs - have tried it on 2 tv's - my Sony (it's a trinitron) tv- gives the non colour flickering screen, my other tv is in full colour but flickering...

Hi again,
Have tried desoldering the +5v wire and moving it around the pins on the scart - no effect :crying:
Then resoldered the +5v back to its original pin, desoldered the vid sync and tried it on every spare pin - still no effect. Interestingly tho' the flickering image stayed on one tv even with the sync wire disconnected. On my sony tv theres now no picture (even tho' the scart on the tv still works) I've tried another scart cable, and checked both and they're both fully wired up.
Have also tried my Final Fight jamma on the same supergun, with the -5v connected, all to the same effect as the 2 slot.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks again in advance,
Ian.

All I can say is double check your wiring on the jamma connector and scart socket...
You are so close to having this work, I would put money on there is just 1 connection wrong..
the first mvs console I made had exacly the same problem as you, my problem was I put sync was on 19 instead of 20 or vice versa...

Thanks for the reply - yep - I checked my connections on my stripboard and guess what? The strip the sync was attached to had lifted - *bows head in humiliation* - tested the mvs after correcting this, and it's stopped the right to left scrolling, but still scrolls down to up. After getting the multimeter out again, it seems that my +5v via 100ohm resistor is still outputting 5v to scart - would this cause the down to up scrolling?
Cheers for the help again, much appreciated,
Ian.

Just thought i'd add to this - rebuilt the supergun, and now the screen runs in black and white (with a faint shadow) but with a stable image. It does this even if the +5v via 100ohm resistor is disconnected or connected. I've tried moving the +5v around but no effect. Any ideas - help'd be much appreciated.
Cheers, Ian.
