Hey guys.

My brother and I recently bought Battlefield 2, one for his PC, one for mine. For some reason his is a CD version, mine is DVD version.

Anyway, we both downloaded the new Patch that is out there, but mine is not working.

His BF2 says it's version 1.1 now, while mine still says Version 1.0.

I can't play in rooms that he can go in, because it says I have an Older version, and he can't join rooms I can, because it says he has a Newer version.

I have now downloaded the Patch 5 times, even uninstalling and reinstalling the damn game.

I've downloaded it from 2 places, and even THROUGH AIM which my Brother sent his own Patch, that WORKS FOR HIM, but NOT FOR ME???

Please help, this is pissing me off.

I heard the patch is fucked up, causes a memory leak or something.

EA says if you installed it, to reinstall the game and not patch it.

Unless they fixed the patch...

I know there's a problem with it, but I just want to have it for the moment because I can't play with my Brother in the same room, because either he can't play my room, or I can't play his... :(

Tell him to uninstall and reinstall. Look at all the trouble you've gone through trying to get it working, tell his ass to conform.

EA REALLY knows how to make a game... :rolleyes:

Get THIS.

So I reinstalled the game, right? I have the Old version on it. My Brother does the same, re-installs the game, has the old version.

Yesterday, I load up the game, and it PATCHED ITSELF FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! :eek:

I did not patch it, I did not click on the Patch download, I didn't do anything. The game didn't say it would check for new versions, it didn't load anything up, it didn't notify me AT ALL.

How I stumbled onto this is my Brother and I just start to look over the Rooms to play in, and noticed that neither of us could find Room names that matched on both our games. So I just let my eyes wander on to the top right corner of the menu, and I see that the Game "updated" itself without my Knowledge. (the version numbers now say "1.1.2475" instead of the old "1.0.2442".)

Jesus christ, thank god my Brother was able to Repatch his game, so we could finally play. :rolleyes:

So BEWARE, EA Games will update your game without your knowledge.

That's odd, not happening for me. You'd think they wouldn't enable an auto update while they have a warning not to install the patch on the front page of EA's site.

Anybody wanna play tonight?

Download the 1.02 patch and install first, 1.01 patch has a big memory leak. :emb:

Mostly I've been playing on ranked servers with 64 player maps, haven't found one in particular I like since it seems like every server has half the team as 8-year-olds. :annoyed:

We gotta get all the NG.com peeps together on this game.

Try playing in 32 player games. I find them to be much more stable and lag-free. Some of the servers I frequent are ||260servers.net||, =ESI=, 1st Armored |Virginia|, WoW Walk on Water, and Ironfistclan.com. I am trying to get another person to help with the costs on renting our own server, but that could take awhile.

2 hours now and counting trying to get this SHIT going.

I have a
amd 64 2800
gefore 6600gt
1gig of ram
shitload of hd space
lg dvd burner

It will load the flash / startup screen then nothing. If I try again a windows error comes up.

Yes i have the newest video driver, dvd drivers adn all that shit. I play alot of games and this is the only one with problems :mad: :very_ang:

And there is no help out there!

I think this game needed about 6 months longer dev time... I can't belive it won't run on your system. :oh_no:

You might want to try the Planet Battlefield Tech Forum (http://www.forumplanet.com/planetbattlefield/forum.asp?fid=13392). There's a lot of kiddies on it but I've found some helpful stuff there. One fix that worked for me is to delete any profiles that may have been created in the BF2 folder in My Documents.

But yeah, this game needed a LOT more time for bugfixes. Even for a PC game this is bullshit. I have a high-end rig that's no more than 4 months old and I couldn't even play the game without stuttering before the 1.02 patch. :oh_no:

you do know that you have to reboot to get the patch working right?

It's not fucking switching over to Lcpl. even though I earned enough points and then some. No idea how but I knew this would happen. Probably cause I've been looking forward to using the G3 for so long.

This seems like a really easily fixable glitch.

Yes, I know. I did that with all my tries.

Anyways, the new patch works, so I'm good. :)

PS: I hate 90% of the players online. All they ever do is Tank Whore. Whee, jump in a tank, and blow running people to bits. Fun fun fun. :rolleyes:

PPS: I also commend EA for practically crippling the entire game when there are MORE VEHICLES THAN PLAYERS! :blow_top:

My name is "DARK ANDY", I only play with in rooms where my Brother "EVIL NICK" can also play in.

So if you see me, you will also see my EVIL NICK, on the same team.

We vastly prefer playing as MEC or China, USA are overpowered assholes. Every scenario is just them invading places, and MEC and China defend. I get a disturbingly high level of satisfaction from killing a US troop in a battle, moreso when they're ALWAYS in Tanks.

I had the same deal both times I got promoted. Quit the game and restart it, should promote you the next time you get a kill.

i love tanks, especially killing them as a spec ops by using c4 :) they dont know what hit em!
