In an interview with Nintendo Europe VIP, Katsuya Eguchi, producer of Animal Crossing DS, revealed some new details on the highly anticipated game:

Single player mode
- new characters
- new furniture
- buildings have changed
- museum has a second floor with a different kind of exhibition. first floor has a coffee shop where K.K. Slider plays
- Tom Nook’s department store is much bigger and has a beauty salon where you can customise your hair

Online multiplayer mode
- visitors will come to the host’s town, so the session will take place in the time zone of the host
- the host can hide several presents and three visitors can come into that town and start a scavenger hunt, there are more new features like this
- no plans for downloadable content at the moment

‘As for the difference between playing with friends at home or over the Internet, the point of the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection is to bring people, who are normally very far away, closer, so that it feels as if you were playing together in the same room. Of course, when you are playing the game by yourself, you can go fishing – but if you’re playing with someone else, both of you can go fishing and you can perhaps create your own rules for a fishing competition, like ‘Let’s play for 10 minutes and see who catches the most fish.’ This is exactly the kind of communication that is so important to the game: establishing rules, negotiating, and coming to an agreement. You can go and play tag, or hide and seek, and it allows the two players to kind of customise the environment, the situation that they’re going to be playing, which allows for a lot of different gaming experiences.’

I am looking forward to this game.

I just hope it has some single or multi-card play.

Can't wait for this game either.

This and Nintendogs are the reasons to own a DS.

Bought this for the GC. Realised how horribly gay it is and never played it again. No reason to buy the DS version.

You know... I still don't know how I feel about this.

I've never played the GC version, so I don't really know what to expect.

I know the basic premise and where the fun is supposed to be had, but I'm not certain it's something I would enjoy playing.

The person-to-person interface via WiFi is obviously the most attractive feature, but seeing that I don't even have a wireless setup, I'm still debating on whether or not to dive into that for this game, or at all for that matter.

I'll admit, it would be kind of cool to chill with some of you NG.com folk in an overly cute virtual world, but cool enough to plunk down the cash for a wireless setup and a copy of the game?

I don't know about that yet.

thats like $15. all you need is a wireless usb adapter. set it up as an access point and there you go.

no need to buy a wireless router.

Same here...

Honestly, Castlevania is the only DS title I'm looking forward to ATM.

And Sengoku Cannon is the only PSP game I'm looking forward to ATM.

Hmm, that must explain why I don't play my DS then. Stuff like AC and ND is just so "metrosexual," it's just not my thing. I don't use "product" in my hair, I don't wear designer underwear, and I don't want to raise puppies & play house in my videogames.

No offense to anyone, what you do or play in the privacy of your own home is your business. :kekeke:

I don't think a wireless setup and dial-up go together very well.

Oh well, there's always Borders Cafe Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Fun? To me a fun videogame is stuff like Metal Slug, F-Zero, Real Bout Fatal Fury series, SHMUPS, Tekken 5, some RPG's (Skies of Arcadia), Fire Emblem, Advance Wars etc.

Those games are fun.

Raising puppies and playing house may be fun to you, and you're welcome to do it. I didn't say it was "gay" - I said it was "metrosexual." I'm not accusing you of being gay (nor am I saying gay is bad if you are) for playing AC or ND, I'm just saying it's kinda... trendy. :kekeke:

Mainly though, stuff like AC and ND is not for everyone. And it's a little tiresome hearing how these games are some kind of holy grails. Because for a lot of gamers, they aren't.

I'm looking forward to this aspect the most. The GC game was quite fun, but really would've benefited greatly from an online aspect. This version will be awesome. I'm dreaming of inviting TonK, kernow, and bok over for a little fun and trading shirt patterns :emb:

Some will probably hack a ROmZ box into it as an unlockable then it'll just be like the Handheld section is now.

kern's right, I am currently playing the hell out of AC on the cube (just got my basement.)

Diggerman's comparison between "cutesy" games and metrosexuals is retarded.

I've also retracted my statement regarding me being unsure about purchasing the DS version of AC and getting a wireless setup, because I'll most certainly be doing so now.

Also, Tom Nook is a dirty raccoon Jew and I'll see his monopolizing ass dead and buried before the year is done.
