Notice how the Sega logo substitutes the Sammy one.

DAMN!

This might replace 2002/Neowave/98 as fav KOF yet!

That DREAMCANCEL indicator looks so good.

I can just imagine it.

Once initiated successfully the action will stop and it will say DREAM CANCEL and then ownage!

Dreamcancel sounded hot before but it just became more appealing.

KOF 11!!!!! YYYYYYAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting, hasn't this also been the case for other recent games?

PS2 The Rumble Fish and the forthcoming Gulty Gear XX /, but nothing else.

Wha? There's a new Jojo arcade game coming? Or you meant "Hokuto no Ken", which indeed I forgot?

I got excited there for a second... oh well. Fist of the North Star is cool too.

Thanks for the flyer, though... looks great! Can't believe I haven't even played NBC yet, and now this and Tenka are on the horizon...

edit:

Yeah, not to mention the long legs... Araki definitely took a lot of influence from Tetsuo Hara when he created Jojo. Very different than his earlier works like Baoh and B.T. But his work has evolved into something completely unique since the earlier days of Jojo.

Nice. I like to think Sammy doesn't exist in any form anymore.

Sammy is doing truly good things for the industry, nevertheless. Thinking that they are devils for killing the Neo or gobbling Sega is somewhat lame, no offense.

I agree about Sammy, they are somewhat preserving what we know.

I do however feel a lot more comfortable, snd slightly fuzzy inside, about seeing Sega & SNK on one product.

Too bad Ash is such an uninspired fuckhole design of a lead character. I can't wait for the next story arc, and possibly a minute chance that they decide to drop him from the KOF lineup forever...

WTF? Such generalization. I could care less. I'm just pissed because there has been no news about Sammy VS Capcom. I couldn't be happier SNK Playmore moved on to new hardware, now if only they would get off their lazy asses and give us some great sprites. I don't really like SEGA either, but that's a different story.

Oh. I see. I don't think there will be ever, but, most likely, it isn't Sammy's fault. I'm happy with it, though; crossovers are the worst idea the fighting genre has received only after the fake low res stuff.

I blame falcoon (that is who designed him, right?)

I'd rather have Oswald be the new hero

have some of these old fucks take care of business for a change

Eh, that pretty much sums up how I've felt about Kyo for the past 10 years. Falcoon does tend to be a one-note designer, but I've liked a couple of his designs, and I didn't think Ash was so bad.

Nope, Falcoon only designed the new characters from KOF:MI. The only thing he did in the main series was the artwork for KOF2003.

whoever it was needs to realize it's a fighting game and not a fashion show

KOF fighters should like gritty, tough, and ready to beat the shit out of each other

not bright, cheery, and gay

Some of these KOF additions after 98 are sickening, such as:

Hinako, Bao, May Lee, Ash, etc.

There are others that are boderline, but the aforementioned just don't seem to fit the KOF look, IMO

I'm mixed on Kyo I think he is cool in the later versions mainly after he changed his clothing. I would have preferred if Terry was the star though, but he does already have his on games.

Boring if they're all like that. So fucking boring. Might as well go back to Ryu/Ken palatte swap and that's it. I do agree that it sucks just as bad when every single character is trying to out-metro each other, but you still need variety.

I think all of them fit the KOF look; it may be that you don't like the KOF look, and wish it were something else. May Lee in particular, I like a lot. She is a great tribute to a great artist, the late Shotaro Ishinomori. Obviously, that's not going to be picked up by a lot of people who didn't grow up with him, but so what? I'm sure when american movies and whatever get exported, not every joke or reference gets appreciated by foreign audiences.

And I think people just draw an arbitrary line at '98, as if anything from that game or before is beyond reproach. Are any of the newer characters any more of a ridiculous fashion show than Iori, Chris, Yashiro?? Everybody wondered if Chris was a girl, and Yashiro has hearts on his clothes, for crying out loud. Why complain about one and not the other?

Sure, the New Face team play great, but so do May Lee and Ash. I think May Lee is actually one of the most interesting characters to play as in the entire series (after Vanessa, Ramon, Angel, and maybe a couple others).

Kyo and Iori (especially Iori) were the original fighting runway models, Ash definately isn't the first.

you know what, I really can't explain it

I don't mind Benimaru, Shingo, Choi, or goofy Joe (as opposed to the earlier FF incarnations of Joe)

those fighters, although not as menacing and street-like, are still more on par with the "look" of the series

I just feel like some of those new breeds were more cartoony than the previous KOF designs. It's all about the proportions and attire.

notice I said nothing about Dou Lon, K', Whip, Maxima, etc.

Don't you think its weird Iori, Kyo & shingo being on the same team...

You only need to know 1 set of moves for the whole team :D

Nah, I know what you mean...it just comes down to taste, I guess. Like, I know a shitload of people can't stand Ramon, but I think he's great. Things that many people don't like about him, like his goofy running, are part of what to me make him unique and cool. Yeah, they could have given him a more serious style of running, like Ralf or something, but in my mind, he would be less interesting.

@NeoDragoN: your sig looks vaguely like some kind of monster-porn, or something...
