reviving a dead neo geo pad 2?

well, i say dead, more like caught the clap when i wasn't looking and is now out of active service.

a while ago i bought one of those ps2 reissues of the old neo geo cd pad. suffice to say over that time it has been probably the best controller i've ever used. perfect for neo stuff (obviously) capcom games, snes/nes/megadrive emulation and even pes4. in short more or less everything i've tried it with has been excellent.

which is why i was shocked, dissapointed and almost heartbroken to discover that the r2 button and left on the d-pad no longer work as well as some damage to the black cable that houses all the wires. :'( being snk i would have thought that by the time it'd start showing the first signs of being worn out, baldrick and hs time team would be sniffing around the ruins of my house in 2,000 years time. i mean my old ngpc has a similar stick and that's worked perfectly for years still does in fact.

accordong to this website the old neo geo cd pad used to wear out pretty quickly owing to the fact that microswitches inside were almost identical to those in the old atari 2600 joystick. so maybe the reissue inherited this fault.

anyway, ranting and aimless talk aside, i was just wondering if anyone's had a similar experience or knows of a good place in the uk where the pad can be repaired? since i really want to start using it again. and seeing images of the garou re-release and the forthcoming uk ps2 release of samurai shodown 5 is not making things any better... :'(

this is my first post here by the way. :)
