First attempt at Neo to PS controller adapter (I finally figured it out)

So this is my first attempt at a Neo to PS controller connector/converter. Here's the question. Can I...or how do I utilize the +5v connection using a RedOctane PCB or a Sony digital controller PCB?

The way it's wired up now, I'm sure it would work on a Old Style Stick or a Stick wired up to use on a NEO GEO (No PCB). The problem is, I only own a Neo Hori Stick and I believe it utilizes the +5v connection.

Currently it's wired up to a RedOctane PCB, if I make another one, I will be using a Sony Digital PCB.

The hori uses +5v for the rapid fire circuit. Just add that +5v on the db15 port: it's just one wire...

time to get out your multimeter.

I had a feeling I would get an answer like that. I was hoping one of you experts could make it easier for me. :)

What's that? I see practically no components on that board. Anyway, the LED will need some voltage (+5v through a resistor) right? Try that...

what LED? There is no LED on the board.

But I see 4 LED locations in the pic. One pin will be ground, the other will be voltage. Follow the trace and you should find a resistor. On the other side of the resistor (coming from the LED) you should have +5v.

Do you have a picture of the other side of the board? The one you posted is not very useful.

Thanks for the explanation.

I don't have a pic. I would have to take it myself. But I am at work right now. If I solder the wire directly to where the LED would be, would that work?

Sorry for sounding like a noob, but I am not familiar with all the technical stuff.
I can wire up a PCB for custom sticks, but I am not familiar with the +5v part of PCB's and utilizing it for the Neo Geo.

I finally got the NEO to PS controller adapter to work. I trashed the RedOctanPCB, and used a Sony digital PCB. I am familiar with basic electronics (very basic) and the PCB pretty much tells you where to solder the wire for the +5v pin. It traces to the middle pin of the PS controller plug. (The red wire)

Playing Metal Slug on my PS2, with my Neo Hori Stick was pretty sweet.
