I just got me a dedicated neo geo 4 slot, the Leisure and Allied type (Australia) I have also got a four slot board in it. When i turn the machine on, the sound is incredibly quite, but the longer i leave it on for the louder it gets.

I have done a little bit of research on this and have found that it could be one of three things, the volume slider, the jamma connector or the +12V on the power supply.

I have tried cleaning the connector and the volume slider, but it hasnt made any difference which leads me to thinking that i have got a failing power supply.

No here is my ?, when i test the +12V, should i be testing for voltage or amperage? and where is it safe to test the +12V in the cab (im paranoid after copying a major "zap" when i was little :crying: )

Here is a pic of the cab anyway, just so i can brag and mayby someone know tricks for this particular unit...

hrm... nice cab btw... you can check the voltage pretty much anywhere on the board that uses +12v... so, at the jamma contacts would work fine.

thats a neat looking cab. My cab does the same thing, but it doesn't bother me. I figured it was normal and usually leave the volume in a certain position anyhow. I just flip it on and do something else for a few minutes, no big deal.

hours? Thats a bit different, that would be annoying. You could always try another power supply and return it / re-sell it if it doesnt help.

Maybe your sound amp is dying? that would be something to check out as well.

I have a 6-slot that does the same thing. I'm curious about what causes this. Check your headphone jack, mine doesn't work. I bet the problems are related.

The headphone jacks on a 6-slot (and 4-slot) aren't actually headphone jacks, so it's normal that they don't work as headphone jacks...
