Using a laptop with a Jpac?

I've recently aquired a Fujitsu Lifebook B142 which is a very weak (300Mhz, 160MB ram) but very tiny laptop (about the size of an MVS cart). It's powerful enough for the old classic games which is all I'm interested in...

I've always wanted to stick a PC in my cabinet but things are already a little cramped in there, if I could get the Lifebook working in there then I could stick it in there whenever I want to use it without having to change anything in there and without having to take out my 6 slot or Hyper.

Anyway from what I know the main issue is getting it to output video at 15Khz.. The laptop video chipset is a NeoMagic® NM2160, which I can't find any relevant information on. I've read that there's some programs, tsrs, etc that can make a PC output at 15Khz but I don't know if any will work with this particular chipset.

Does anyone know if this is definitely a dead end, or if there's any way of finding out if the chipset is capable of outputting at 15Khz without buying a JPac and actually trying it?

Thanks

Well, you could try it by building a DB15 VGA to RGB SCART cable, and installing DOS AdvanceMAME in the laptop, and see if you manage to get a picture in the TV with the emulator set at 15 khz.
Take care that this might be potentially dangerous to your TV and laptop, so you are warned.

the worst that may happen is no sync, it will not screw the horizontal drive frequency :eek_2:
