They still make TPF? I thought they were bought out by Kerio, and then promptly went to shit. That was the best free Firewall you could get.

Norton = Resources hog.
Tiny = nope.

Hence = Tiny > Norton.

Zone Alarm is the AOL of Firewalls.

Nesagwa - are you behind a router of any kind? If you are, you really needn't worry about installing a Firewall. 'Course, if you're NOT behind a router, then yeah.. you need to look at one.

I'll install Tiny on my laptop and give it a run, and see if I can come up with a suggestion. Are you trying to set up certain programs to run with the firewall on? Meaning, Bit-Torrent, GameServers, etc?

bit torrent, mirc, maybe limewire. Then the other normal stuff like AIM.

When I installed it it wasnt accepting any incoming packets and I couldnt figure out how to configure it.

Ok, if you think Norton anything (bar Ghost) is good, your opinion doesn't count.

I agree a hardware firewall (router) is the best. I'm also a service lockdown freak...

Haven't gotten a chance to put it on my LT (it's updating all kinds of crap right now and it's kinda slow), but programs like Limewire, MIRC and AIM etc don't usually need any setting up in your firewall, unless you'll be using Identd or something. Bit-Torrent is the only one in your mentioned items that will need a setup.

Wasnt sure about mirc. When I was trying norton out it blocked mirc from connecting.
