Anyone own or play the U.S. version NES Famicon clones. Are they anygood?

I was wondering if the new U.S. NES Famiclones are any good. Specifially the ones made by YOBO. I'm thinking about getting an NES, but don't want to mess with the system, and I don't want to pay for an official NES toploader. I will settle for a Famiclone if there decent. I here the Jap versions have bad video quality. So anyone have one or played on one? Any feedback would be appreciated. I also thought this would be a good system to keep in the new car for the kiddies on road trips.

You could get a front-loader for pretty cheap. As long as you keep them clean, they work just fine.

I bought a family boy and I am still waiting for it to come. When it gets here I will post a mini review. Hopefully soon I bought it over 2 weeks ago :very_ang:

Did you buy it on Ebay? That's the only place I've seen them the cheapest.

I have the FC Game Console by YOBO. The system is reviewed as such:

Picture quality - good (can be a little soft)

Cart campatibility - great (with the only glaring exception being that it can't play Castlevania III. As far as I know none of the Fami-clones can play this game.)

Controllers - excellent (I love these controllers)

I saw the Messiah in a previous thread, but the high price tag will probably turn me away. Unless the system completely blows people away. I'm all about gameplay, so having superb video quality is not a priority to me.

I'll buy the messiah if I don't sell my 400 game collection.

The NEs/FC compatability looks good.

I have a problem.............I've been reading up on the Messiah. I just might have to give in and wait till September and buy one.

I'm still in the dark about whether that Messiah Generation Nex will support the Akumajo Densetsu chip.

My Famiclone does support those chips (mine was a Sachen Q-Boy) but controller port 1 screws up and now I can't play FC games.
