How do I handle this potential zero feedback bidder/scammer?

I am certain that this buyer is trying to scam the shit out of me by using a PayPal chargeback scam.

This is my friends ebay account and I sell through him since I don't have my own PayPal account. Anyhow here's the link:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=62054&item=8199675578&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

The guy bidding has zero feedback, registered a few days ago, and has sent two or three emails asking to sell the item outside of eBay.

I'm not stupid enought to fall for this guys tricks, but I don't want to waste time having to relist the auction.

If this guy wins the auction, would it be safe to withdraw the PayPal funds immediately before shipping out the item (with delivery confirmation and insurance)?

Or is there a chance that this guy could strikeback later on and file a chargeback weeks or months later?

As a seller, is a there a winning solution to solve this problem or should I end it early and relist with a no zero feedback bidder policy and change the method of payment accepted?

Yep, and make sure you put the "No Zero Bidders" part in nice big letters...

...better safe than sorry in this case, especially if it's not your PayPal account being used

You should be able to cancel his bids. Add into your item description, as people have suggested, no zero feedback bidders.

You can also report him to eBay for violating policy (trying to sell items outside of eBay) but it's probably not worth the effort, and he might retaliate by signing your e-mail account up to gay porn sites.

yeah if you really don't feel comfortable with a bidder then cancel his bids, and if you really don't like him forward the emails he sent you about selling it to him outside the auction to ebay.

To answer part of your other question. Yes...even if you withdraw the funds he can file and they will put a hold on future funds.

If you or your friends sell something and funds are deposited, PayPal can pull them out. Also...if you would want to send money to someone it makes you take care of the other guy as well. I had this happen to me.
