Aliens.
Blatantly. Alien i good, if slow, takes too many artistic ques imo which make it protractedly boring.
ALiens has the bang bang, one of the best action movies to go, great cast and dialogue.

Alien by a wide margin.
Alien is a great horror movie, which is an extremely rare thing.

I know i'm going to get alot of shit for saying this but i thought alien3 was a pretty good movie. Yeah, yeah flame away you fan boys...It really wrapped up the first three movies in a satisfying way. In the end ripley destroys the aliens but kills herself in the process. I also liked how it brought back the deadliness of the aliens that was so present in the first one. I liked aliens but it made the aliens seem less inteligent. Hell in the first one only one alien terrorized and killed the whole crew yet in 2 they're getting blown up right and left as if any moron with a gun could take one out. The alien being born from a dog was also an interesting twist and how it sort of adopted a cat like persona.

I also love Cameron's part two, but only the original version WITHOUT the ridiculous extra scenes, they completely destroy the dark atmosphere, specially all those family scenes with Newt, her brother and parents. Fuck that.
The others from 3 to whatever have no place in an Alien poll (IMHO). They're no good horrof/sci-fi flicks, let alone worthy Alien sequels, specially part 4 is the most abysmal piece of crap I've ever seen in this regard.

Alien, followed pretty closely by Aliens. Hell, I even liked Alien 3, and have seen 4 about 10 times (just because I'm a huge Alien fan). I will admit that 4 is garbage, but I can't help it.
Back to favorites. Alien is just so good as a true horror movie. Probably the coolest scene in any movie is near the end where they're getting coolant for the escape pod. Lambert and Parker are in a room, and then the creepy music starts, and you see a shadow. I love how Parker tries to save Lambert, and then gets killed. The way he screams, shows the alien's teeth, and how Parker's like "get out of the rooooom!". Don't know what it is, but that part always was badass to me.

Alien. I like it so much I have it on laserdisc.
Actually all of them are pretty good. Aliens because it was a GOOD James Cameron movie and Alien3 because it was a David Fincher flick.
However, Alien Resserection (or alien 4 as the poll puts it) should be striken from the list.
Anyone voting for that needs to be put down for a dirt nap.
