What does everyone think about this iPod now that it has been out for a while? Discuss.

As a full time MP3 Player it would blow.

No screen can be frusterating when your memory on a certain song title escapes you.

I use it primarily for walking to class, and going to the Gym. The small size is great.

My 40 GB Ipod had its battery die TWICE, I'm now involved in the class action lawsuit with apple ($50 credit or replacement battery)

Great for running and for people who don't have a 3409820938Gb mp3 library for your battery to die on you before you can actually choose a song.

Except for sport activities, I still don't see the point over an Ipod mini.

I'm thinking of going with the Creative Zen Micros: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t..._2/103-1734322-2499818?v=glance&s=pc&n=507846

because of the removable battery

either that or get one of those ones that take AA batteries and buy rechargables

rumor has it (multiple web sites), that Apple is about the drop the prices on the shuffles and introduce a 2gb version (one rumor, just one, says it'll have a screen)

I'd hold off for another 2 months

My sister has one of those (Zen Micro). It's a nice player with many functions. However, she had to exchange it after only a few weeks because the headphone jack craped out.

If you listen to all the chart hits and have no clue about music, the shuffle is great.

Otherwise, it's completely fucking useless.

I just bought one yesterday, and its brilliant.
Tiny, lightweight, good sound, easy to fill with music from itunes.
It does everything i wanted it to do, for walking/skating to work, on the train, etc. For short trips i never looked at the screen on my full size ipod anyways, so this is even better because of the size.

I still plan to use my old 20GB (which i plan to replace with the next gen ipod photo, hopefully 80+ GB) ipod (plus amp and ety er-4p cans) for any longer trips, but this is perfect for everything else.

I looked at other small flash mp3 players, but i liked the shuffle best. It may have no screen, but because of this the navigation buttons are much more useful than the tiny ones on the others.

A bank here in Canada is giving away free ipod shuffles if you switch to their checking account. I'm thinking about doing it.

This is basically what I had in mind, something to take to the gym or when I'm out running. I think Apple could sell a lot more Shuffles if they lowered the price to $70 - 75.

My wife has one and she loves it. Very convenient. She doesn't like messing with a bunch of different options.
