... and here's the reason why:

Yes, that's a Porsche Carrera GT. Finally, EA wakes up and realises that European exotics made the NFS series great, not ricing out a Civic. :buttrock:

Not bad. I do hope EA does reawaken the old Need for Speed, with this one. I'm no really hip to their underground stuff, mostly because they really didn't seem to care about game performance. However, my favorite Need for Speeds are easily between Hot Pursuit and High Stakes (all on the PC, mind you). To me, they offered the more thrilling car race/chase games than that of what made the Underground series. I guess it's because Midnight Club did a better job of the *thrillride* than NFSU did. Stuff like having to deal with Law enforcement, the great satisfaction of "getting the competition in trouble with the police" and so forth. I'm guessing this is a PC and 360 title. It'll be great to finally play a Need for Speed game back at the resolutions and speed I remember playing them at.

NFS was awesome until the undergrounds

porsche :buttrock:

driving away from the cops in corsica by the sea, oh man, some racing games never got the atmosphere right, you could hear birds tweeting, etc, the courses, sounds everything just looked so , natural.

my favourites are torn between porsche unleashed and NFS HP2, we still play them on lan nowadays, and they scale very nicely to new hardware, yet still run on older machines .. \\o woot. it still looks awesome today in my opinion

heres to another fan (I loved the 3DO original too)

"what do you want? a hero biscuit?"

Hot Pursuit's are the best in the series.

the first on the PS1 (aka NFS3) had the best graphical effects in a racing game ....... EVER.

rain, fog, storms, night time .... etc. simply amazing

HP2 was excellent too, but lost most of the things that made the first great (the things I mentioned above). still excellent though (track design and control wise)

I'm not holding my breath over Most Wanted. I'm not into this whole "the Fast and the Furious" shit. still, I'm not hating it because of that though. I'll pass judgement untill I see more.

a remake of HP1 would make the perfect realistic racing game IMO (I say realistic because I'm also a fan of the Ridge Racer series, but who gives a shit, really?)

Ditto!!! EA needs to get back to their roots. The original Need for Speed for the PS was and still is a great game.

Meh, I liked the Undergrounds. I thought it was a fun departure from the series, and it was pretty novel for a racing game.

I thought NFSU was fine to play for a couple of hours. Then, it was the same thing over and over.
The old series' were pretty kickass. I loved High Stakes especially, as well as Hot Pursuit. Other than the Carrera, I haven't seen much else that is telling me that this game is anything more than a remade Underground.
A couple of tricked out BMWs (better than a Neon but still) and industrial districts are not oceanside highways and winter roads.
Still, it is something to keep an eye on.

Yep, I personally like the NFSU games myself. I especially enjoy the drifting competitions.
