The Battlefield 2 Preorder Headset

So I slacked on preordering because I wanted to see who would have the game on sale. Turns out Fry's will have it for $40, so I went over there to see if they still had the preorder boxes with the headsets, and they were all out. (They had 5 or so last week, my dumbass shoulda bought it then)

Anyways for those who have the headset, is it USB or regular headphone jack? Is it the same as the headset that came with the UT2004 DVD LE?

Don't sweat it man, I waited around to see about the heatset too. Turns out that no one, even EA has the headset. They've started offering a Z-board faceplate instead. I don't think the headset would have been worth a shit anyway... I'm buying a cheapo one to wear around my neck with my nice headphones on.

I don't even know if I'll be able to use it, since I don't use my on board soundcard. I have a pci one with RCA and midi connections.

I guess I'll just have to see if I can get the UT logitech one to work.

This game looks sweet. Wish the damn game would come out for the Mac.

I cant seem to find anything about it being ported to the Mac...BooHooo :-(

Logitech has a USB model headset for $40. It looked hella cheap though...

Wal-Mart has a logitech headset for $15....Worth every penny. I've had 2 pair, because I don't take care of them, and busted one set up by stepping on them, and ripping them out of the back of the puter everytime I walked in and out of the room. For your money you can't go wrong, sound is good, mic is good, and they're durable Audophiles might not like them....but who gives a fuck.. :drool:

I downloaded it from filelist.org

1.9 gig download.

Dvd image.

Installed it yesterday and played some single player action.

I will pick it up when its released.

Don't bother. I have the BF2 headset. It works, but the mic is really close you your face and thing over all feels real cheap. But at the cost of free, I guess you get what you pay for.

Meh, I don't care at all about single player, and I already have the demo to play online, so I'll just wait to pick it up from Fry's on Wednesday (hopefully they get it tomorrow though)

This full-dvd release of the game is playable online via hacked servers, etc. I imagine once retail hits the key-checks will be in place and less plentifull servers to choose from if you have the underground version.
