Today was different. (guitar related, WARNING)

I got me a new guitar today.. a Ibanez and a really nice amp. Well I also got this yngwie dvd which is kind of pointless because the examples are so fast, but you can get shit out of it if you watch it 1,000,000 times.

Anyways, I was playing this paul gilbert excersize, I started just thinking up my own patterns and I swear my speed like doubled. It wasnt sloppy speed either, at times I had great control and I'm making my own patterns up.

Granted im no wes or michael yagami in guitar skill, but this is just fucking weird, out of nowhere my left hand became much faster.. (I like this new guitar to, I started with BC rich which is not a bad brand, but for sitting, there is zero comfort factor unless you have a bich or the like.)

Anyways, I wanna get these really solid and maybe record these patterns.. I just spam them in word pad when I find something cool, but some of these are really advanced and I feel a great sense of accomplishment and pride at the stuff I write..

yeah, those videos are hilarious. he's like, "here's a rif that i use to warm-up (plays some insanly difficult rif effortlessly), and here's another one (another effortless insane rif)" my friends had a bunch of his videos.

it's also funny to start from the early videos and work your way to the newer vids, cuz he gets much fatter over the years.

You know though? Alot of these arent really hard, he just has them really memorized. I think if I practice enough I can nail almost all of these, but I dont wanna swim into that water until I get metal method and spend a pissload of time on those dvd's. He does it so fast as to make it look impossible but I won't let this effect me. When you are starting like I was months or so back I looked at this shit like 'yeah right', but with the personal improvment I've seen with being optimistic and sticking to practicing certain things I know some day I'll do these.

Confidence keeps me going, even if im having a bad day.

Yngwie is hilarious, you cant take this shit seriously, it wasnt meant to be taken seriously. It might as well be a dvd of his touring..

This is why I like paul gilbert and why hes my favorite guitarist. He doesnt show these retardledly fast examples. Yngwie's ego is so high up there that its like he doesnt want you to even learn this stuff to begin with. I think he fears that if alot of people do it they will over come him in skill.

Whats funny is that his slowest examples still arent slow enough, the damn dvd came with no tablature so I gotta either do it myself or get it on the net.

This dvd I was insulting actually pays for itself, insert it into a dvd drive and theres printable pdf files of the tabs for like everything in this dvd.

Same idea, hes swedish, hot as fuck for a guy. The cover of the dvd gives me a stiff. I mean, if all men looked like this, we'd all be rob halford.

I think that would be Uli Jon Roth (ex-scorpions guittarist) he plays the "sky guitar" a guitar designed by himself that has much more range than a conventional guitar.

Nah thats not who Im thinkin of. The guy Im thinking of makes it sound like violins and shit by messing with the volume knob as hes playing. Plays like "classical" music on guitar.

Meh. I dunno. Its funny to watch those DVD's.
