Hi! I have a question about the PS2 video problem. I want to connect my PS2 to my Naomi Universal Cabinet, my cab has 15khz, 24khz, 31khz, can I use the component cable and change it to a 15 pin female adapter. If this can be done will there be picture.

Also if anyone knows a website that shows the PS2 AV output pinout. Thanks.

If your monitor is 31 khz compatible, then you can possibly buy a PS2 VGAbox (unfortunately I think they are quite crappy) and directly hook it. If you want to use your cab controls then you'll have to mod 2 ps2 controllers.

BIG has a device which is PS2 > Jamma, takes the RGB straight out of the PS2 and converts all the controls. It tandems up for Dreamcast as well :D

I think its $300+ though.

I think that's probably alot like the link I gave... only, doing it youself would only cost around $50 if you bought from expensive dealers... Like it says, buy a scart cable, make the circuit, wire everything up right, and viola you have your $300 adapter that doubles as a saturn adapter.. probably dreamcast too...

I think its worth $300. Its not just taking a raw RGB signal from PS2/PS1/DC but its converting the joypad signals to that of Jamma. So you just plug your console into this box and the box converts everything into jamma.

If you like shooters and you have ESP galuda and a PS2, you can buy this box for $300 and play it on your cab, or buy ESP galuda PCB for $300.

When Mushi comes out on PS2, you just need to spend $60 on the import as you already have the means to play it on your cab. That PCB is still $1500+.

So whats seems like $300 not well spent, actually turns into $300 spent and savings $1000's.

Unfortunately the box is fussy about running on particular cabs, Impress is good, Astro is bad from what I hear.

Buttons are buttons. The controls should be pretty simple to wire up to work JAMMA. Also, the cabinet shouldn't matter, as all a cabinet is, is a monitor and controls. I'll tell you what... I'll go by the guidelines laid out in the link, and then I'll let you know how well it turned out when I'm done. I'll start on that project right after my consolized cps2 project I'm working on.
