Wow this is awesome news about the Sonic Gems Collection for Gamecube.

Sonic CD was one of the best games available for Sega's ill-fated Sega CD. The graphics and gameplay combine to make the game feel like a much larger version of the original Sonic game. In the game, the hedgehog has the ability to run so fast that he actually travels forward and backwards in time. There are also 3D bonus rounds where Sonic runs around on a scrolling map, collecting rings and dodging enemies. Sega is currently trying to iron out licensing issues so that it can get the original Japanese soundtrack in for Sonic CD in addition to the redone U.S. tunes (and yeah, the Japanese soundtrack is far better).

The differences in the sound track is a matter of taste, personally I think that the vocals on both where sad.

Haen't picked up any of the other sonic collections. Mostly i'd just like to play Sonic CD without having to go through all the trouble of obtaining a sega cd + game as i can see myself starting a nice Sega CD collection that i really dont need at the moment.

Sonic Gems Collection is currently slated for stateside release exclusively on the GameCube. In Japan, the game will be released both for the GameCube and the PS2.

Agreed to bad telenet long gone i love to... see another Exile game.
