Hi,

Below are some pics of my control panel from my electrocoin cab, I'm looking to replace all of the buttons as well as the sticks as there getting a bit old now and a little sticky when pressed also the sticks are getting loose.

My questions are as follows.

1- What new type of stick should I buy and where from?, I know there are different variations but what is best?

2- How do I go about replacing all the buttons and sticks on my cab? I have seen guides before but not one relating to my cab. Does anyone have a good guide that I could use?

3- Will the new sticks and buttons all fit in my cab ok? Are they all made to a slandered spec i.e. to fit in all JAMMA cabs as standard?

1. There is no such thing as the best stick. It's all really up to the player. Some people like American styled Happ sticks while others like Sanwa or Seimitsus. Most agree that the top players for best sticks are
- Happ Competition
- Happ Perfect 360
- Sanwa JLF-TP-8Y
- Seimitsu LS-32
Your best bet would be one of the Happ sticks because the other two (both Japanese) are meant for candy cabs and are hard to mounted in wood.

2. They should just screw off. But those are Leaf style buttons so I'm not 100% sure. I've never used them before.

3. Most buttons will fit in most cabs. The standard size hole is 30mm-ish. I'm 99.9999999% sure that buttons of that size will fit in your cab.

Just unscrew the stamped out metal nut on the bottom of the buttons and the colored part of the button comes right off through the top while the rest is removed from the bottom. Remember to keep track of which wire goes where for the next button as you don't need things to get messed up. I suggest labeling them or even just replacing one button at a time.

The joystick, you need to disassemble the bottom of the "stick" and remove the knob /shaft through the top. Then it is just the four bolts holding the rest in place from the bottom. Again make sure you label your wires.
