Hello,

Thank you for writing eBay with your concerns related to feedback.

I realize that retaliatory feedback is one of the most frustrating
aspects of a dispute between members. However, we cannot block members
from leaving feedback, or from retaliating if you leave them negative
feedback. If we were to interfere, and prevent members from leaving the
feedback they choose, then the Feedback Forum would no longer be a place
for free and open communication. In addition, other members would not be
able review the Buyer's and Seller's comments for each other, including
the replies and/or follow-ups, and make up their own minds about what
happened in a transaction.

Of course no one wants to receive retaliatory feedback. I can only tell
you that it's important to speak the truth about your experiences
dealing with other eBay members. If that means leaving negative
feedback, then you should do so. Fortunately, the Feedback Forum is set
up in such a way that retaliatory, untrue feedback is usually rather
apparent to anyone looking at your profile, especially when they see the
other positive feedback comments you've received.

Also, if a buyer fails to send payment, you can file for a Final Value
Fee credit through our Unpaid Item program. You can learn more about the
Unpaid Item process at the following link:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/unpaid-item.html

Now although we cannot edit or remove the feedback in question, if both
you and your trading partner are able to resolve a problem after
feedback has been left, you can mutually agree to withdraw the feedback
rating. The text of the mutually withdrawn feedback still appears in the
member profile, but is no longer counted in the feedback score. Both
members must agree, and feedback left by both parties will be withdrawn
at the same time. For more information on Mutual Feedback Withdrawal,
see the following Help page:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/feedback/questions/mutual-withdrawal.html

**Note: Members have 90 days from the end of the listing, or 30 days
from the time feedback is left to complete the mutual feedback
withdrawal process**

If you are unable to resolve the situation between you and the other
member, you may enter mediation with the other member through
SquareTrade. SquareTrade is an independent third-party that provides
dispute resolution services to eBay buyers and sellers. SquareTrade
offers a free web-based forum where users can attempt to resolve their
differences on their own. If necessary, SquareTrade also offers the
services of a professional mediator for a fee.

If you can come to a resolution with the other member through
SquareTrade, and eBay is provided with a ruling or settlement agreement
from SquareTrade, we are able to withdraw the feedback rating. However,
when SquareTrade mediation is used to facilitate feedback withdrawal, we
can withdraw the feedback rating only after SquareTrade contacts us. If
you'd like, you can contact SquareTrade at the following Web address:

Thank you again for taking the time to write in.

Regards,

Varrian

I don't see how a retaliatory feedback indicates the truth about the transaction. Ebay is full of crap.

I know how ya feel. I used to put 'No bidders with NO or MINUS feedback please' and a -1 bidder won the item, then leaves me a negative when I refused to sell to him. Also I used to only ship within the UK but overseas bidders still bid and of course..

Ebay sux man :blow_top:

I made a suggestion that a buyer can only leave feedback once the seller has left his, the seller should always leave feedback first.

They never even got back to me. :buttrock:

Are you a power seller on ebay Tonk? Because ebay only seems to care about their power seller and won't do anything else for their other people. I have had feedback left in retaliation, so I know how it feels. It's bullshit.

I've heard that power-sellers have the ability to delete negative feedback. Can anyone verify or disprove this?

I got a negative about a year back, about some supergun I sold - he said it didn't work, bullshit - it did.

then, I realised how much of an impact it makes to my life and stopped caring.
