I just picked up their newest album "In You Honor" and it's very good. It's a two CD set. The first is harder and more of the usual Foo Fighters goodness, while the second CD is the slower and more somber tunes. If you're a Foo Fighters fan, or a fan of good music in general, pick this one up.

i've never really listened to the foo fighters that much...i really only hear their songs on the radio.

right now, i've got a good feeling that a new TOOL record is not far off, so i'm saving 15$ for that.

If it's too confusing, just send me a PM. I'll make sure to explain basic English grammar to you in detail.

"a fan of good music in general"

Um... That's pretty subjective, no?

It depends on how you think of it. I was speaking to those who may not be into such genres as rock, but still like quality music.

I found it boring as shit so far, and I've liked all their albums up to this point, the last one not quite as much. Just nothing has stood out at me or made me want to listen to it again. Maybe I just need to give it time?

Or maybe they are just a tired ass band who's brand name has surpassed their actual talent, and their sound is now outdated and I'm jaded from listening to too much Queens of the Stone Age. Or maybe I'm just out of touch and should shutup, who really knows... :eek_2:

You are right about one thing, their sound has never really changed. That could make you love them or hate them. For my two cents, I actually like the fact that they have stuck to their style of tock music for so long. Yes it could hinder dreativity, but it's better then some of the crap I've seen other bands, who used to be good, come out with.

I haven't listened to the second CD that much, but maybe it will grow on me. I'm not so much for the softer songs, but there are some decent ones.

QotSA will do that to you. And interestingly enough, I would go so far as to say that the guest drumming work that Grohl does for QotSA, NIN, and Garbage (but especially Queens of the Stone Age) outdoes most of his work for FF in overall passion. At least that's what is seems like to me.

I think FF has been on a downward curve for quite a while now, quality-wise. I have all their albums, but they've really deteriorated to the point where I would call them near generic, non-memorable rock. Creative well has run dry, it seems. Grohl himself was making that very claim a while back, when he said the band was done.

Anyway, the new album is pretty blah so far to me, with the acoustic stuff being the only interesting part IMO. Little better than the last album, but nowhere near the level of the self-titled album or "The Colour and the Shape."

QotSA >>>>>> FF.
