I'd have to say Ryu from SFII:WW

The oldie, but goodie indeed

It set his personality as a fighter that played just for the thrill

Another one I like was Zantetsu from Last Blade 1, with the somewhat surprise ending (more like a "wow that's cool", rather than "wtf?")

Tack on Shikyo, just for the fact the developers had the balls to kill a character and not worry about a sequel.

The ones that I can remember from ym childhood are all from SF2:WW. Ken, Ryu, Guile, Chun-li, Blanka...all great.

Shit, I need to replay the game again...haven't done that in maybe 10 years.

I liked Ken playing on his home console with his son(?), on one of the vs games I clocked at the arcades years ago.

also the clown ending on Fighter's History Dynamite. because it was out there.

Mark of the Wolves is an obvious choice for endings on a Neo fighting game.

Left the door wide open for a sequel. In fact, the endings practically begged for a sequel (Rock, Marco, Hokutomaru to some extent). If SNK hadn't shut its doors, there could have, and should have, been a sequel with an older Yamazaki, an older Andy, and possibly an "older" Takuma-style Ryo.

SFII. (Take you pick)

The ending song was absolutely classic.

Yeah, totally awesome. Still listen to it these days, one of the all time memorable moments in my videogaming life.

Ryu's WW ending though.... Owns all others before and since.

Hmm. This is a good and tough question for me. Most fighting games I don't typically have a favorite ending for. So instead of favorites, I have a few categories.

Most Funny Endings:
Tekken 3 - Ling Xiaoyu (Not quite the amusement park she wanted. Heihachi park!!)
Tekken 5 - ANY ENDING WITH LEE in IT. His "Thumbs Up" rules supreme.
DOA3 Li Fang - (I'm not sure how intential this is, but the last man she drops, in that ending, falls down like a resident evil zombie. It's hard not to laugh at that one.)
Pocket Fighter - Stuff during the credits is just funny to watch, but most endings are pretty humorous. They also made Ibuki a nutcase, in that game.
Marvel vs. Capcom - The Morrigan/Ryu ending catches you by surprise.
Various Art of Fighting endings in KOF - KOF 96 comes to mind, in particular.

Runner up: Street Fighter Alpha 3. Does Nash have to steal EVERYBODY'S ending? It's just humorous how many character endings he gets into.

Most Unique Ending idea:
Last Blade - Hibiki (Two different endings, depending on how you play through with Hibiki. Still the ONLY fighting game character ever to be able to alter their personality throughout the Single player mode depending on how many true kills she makes, as she progresses - evilly censored away in U.S. releases. A great character. A great Voice actress. The only character in which their performance makes me almost feel generally sorry, for her innocent mental state, when she starts killing.)

Most BAD#&* endings:
I'll have to agree on the Mark of the Wolves stuff. They generally had some rather good endings that screamed for sequels.
The Guilty Gear series kind of falls into this category, and probably is a close one. The dramatics, for most, are a little more downplayed than MOTW, but not bad all around.

Hugo's Third Strike ending is probably my favorite. It was just funny seeing Ryu all into being a pro wrestler.

Zangief's Alpha 3 ending is up there as well. Watching Zangief destroy the Psycho Drive by smashing it with E. Honda was great.

Hero Team in '00, just plain awesome.

Benimaru Team in '00 was also great. It still amazes me to see how they managed to put so much tension in the ending of a game with no spoken dialogue, no orchestrated music, no $100 million cutscenes and no over-the-top action, just good old storytelling. The old SNK really had serious talent in them.

Terry's ending in Real Bout Fatal Fury. Jubei Yamada in FFS. The ending of the original Fatal Fury. Donovan's ending in Vampire Hunter. Followed by most of the endings in both KOF 2000 and '01. Also, Soul Edge/Blade's choose-your-own-path endings.

Great ending, especially when you add in the ending music from the Neo Geo CD. It's classic.

AOF Team KOF '94, '95 and '03. New Face Team KOF '95, Fatal Fury Team KOF '03, King Lion and Mezu from Kizuna, Fuuma's ending from WHP.

All the SF II endings, Akuma's ending from Alpha 2,. Anakaris' endings from Night Warriors and Vampire Savior, Lord Raptor's ending from Night Warriors, Xiaou's endings from Tekken 3 & 5, Jin's endings from Tekken 3 & 5, Tiger from Tekken 3.

Eyedol: Killer Instinct(Arcade version) - Mockery of Blanka's ending with a twist

Shang Tsung: Mortal Kombat II - "Have a Nice Day!"

Boss Endings: Street Fighter II: CE

Kagura, Kyo, Iori: KoF 2003 - Leaves a lot of things open. Plus, I want to know what Ash is really up to.

Shingo, Goro, Benimaru, Kyo - I like the end where Saishu shows up. Shingo needs to turn against these guys.

Kensou, Chin, Athena: KoF 95 - Rock and Roll Band

Shin Akuma: SFAlpha2 - Like it cuz of the music

Jin: Tekken 3 - Just bad ass how Jin takes down Heihachi
