I just purchased a new car and looking to get an aftermarket stereo deck. I was curious to see what people may recommend as a choice and I am hoping to get MP3 playback as well. Do any decks offer the ability to play mp3s off burned DVD discs?

How about Alpine or Audiobahn? And from what I understand the majority of decks will allow you to play back mp3 no prob.....

bleh, my $60 (dunno brand but its a kenwood or something) has been rocking for 4+ years and has only just recently began pulling the cd back in right after ejecting, or only ejecting halfway then pulling back in. as long as i grab the cd on the way out all is well.

also I am using a pair of $80 ($40 each retail from circuit city or something) infinity door speakers that are amazing.

Fuck that! I'm getting a AudioBahn system up and ready.. I wan to blast my reggaeton all stupid....probably be about $1800 for me...well worth it though

My trunk cant be popped opened, it opens with a key. They cant get to my system, also my ride has this tight alarm I got...its fucken dope.. and I have been able to stop 2 guys from trying to pop my car...I protect my ride like I do my girl...you touch, I tear you apart! simple as that

I put in a full Pioneer system in my car a few months back that included 6 new speaker throughout the car(basically replacing all the standard ones) a Pioneer 7' touch screen DVD player with DAB radio and Xbox and a full boot install including 2 amps and 4 black air subs.
THe system sounds absolutely awsome, watching a DVD in it sounds sooo much better than my TV at home - its absolutely fantastic

Just kiddin... I have to check it out. As for us poor people - we can use that money for clothes.

ha ha, I know what you mean. I'll be the first to admit that I thought I'd just thrown a large amount of cash down the drain when I had all that lot done to my car and the bill was big - about £2,700(which I think is about $5,000) but when I put it on the difference in sound quality is huge - it is a fantastic system, but for the price, it should be

You gotta have a good system to blast teh musac!! The one I'm looking at is tight as fuck, sounds fucken great. Can't wait to cruise around and blast the fuck out of it. Some Best Buy shit or whatever aint gonna cut it out in the streets, obvioulsy if you just want to listen calmly to your music and not blast it stupid. Then a BOSE or Sony, Pioneer all those cheaper brands is alright. But if you want to blast it...you got to go Alpine or Audibahn. I'll tell you where my car is, as long as you give me a picture of yourself and where exactly you want to be shot. heh.

Pioneer cheap? The screen alone was £1,500 - I'd agree with you on the Audiobahn - simply awsome but Alpine doesnt do a thing for me - the blackairs in my boot pump out some serious volume and bass and I'd have those any day over Alpine stuff

My Pioneer deck is only half way in the hole. The molding holding it up broke during an accident

I've left my car unlocked in some funky neighborhoods.

It's an easy grab but no one has ever touched it.

In my old truck I had a Sony CDX-MP70 with 2 sets of Infinity Kappa plate mount speakers. The player was tight as hell with the cd tray. Plus the screen was great, it practically scrolled everything you could possibly want.
