Controller buttons not working??

Ok, my breakers revenge cart seems to be dying. For some strange reason I can't seem to get A,B,C or D working during a fight. I can start the game and and buttons work fine when i'm selecting a character but after that I get nothing.

Anybody got any clues on this?

You got any hard dip switches turn on that you shouldn't?

Not that I know of. I think the answer here is my cart is a boot. I tried other games in the same slot, different controllers and such and they only didn't work on this game. I'm going to open this one up and see if it's a boot. I have a sneaky suspicion that i'll be right... oh well..
