Battlefield 2 Demo is out!

Has anyone downloaded the demo? I just started and the servers are less than 50K/s which translates to about 3-4hrs of downloading.......

Does anyone have this somewhere quicker?

I'd love to download it from Fileplanet but unfortunately EA is run by douche bags. I'm downloading it from gamershell, seems to be the best source.

If Gamespot is trying to compete with Fileplanet with this new 'Gamecenter' they're doing a SHITTY job.

Oh you guys will love this... There is a time limit in the demo, after so long the game stops and you have to restart the map. That's a big thumbs up to EA!

OMFG. This game ownz. Hard.

Gentlemen, i installed the demo on my roomies computer.

I've had a few drinks.

But still, my battlefield skills came through.

My first kill, less then 2 minutes into the game, was WITH A KNIFE.

Thats right, i knifed a sniper who thought he was tough shit. Little did he know that the knife is my weapon of choice.

Drunken rambling aside (yes i realize its before 3) i will be online as "Lagduf." Primarily playing as a medic, though sometimes i switch to support when some heavy fire needs to be laid downrange. Nothing better then popping off a few hundred rounds with the SAW or RPK.

Removing the Time Limit

Here's the info for removing the time limit on the game:

Code:

Battlefield 2 Standalone Demo Server\mods\bf2\python\game\gamemodes 
 
Locate the line  
host.registerHandler('TimeLimitReached', onTimeLimitReached, 1) 
 
Place a # in front of it so it appears like 
 
#host.registerHandler('TimeLimitReached', onTimeLimitReached, 1) 
 
This will make the 12 min timer still appear but once it hits 0:00
the clock will disappear and you will be able to play
until the tickets expire.
