It's funny how much they altered the design from the original and yet still managed to make it ugly as fuck.

Yeah why couldn't they put in a rechargable battery pack that recharges when you hook up the cables to the system.

I'm sure you'll be able to shove a li-on pack in there. (Just like the wavebird)

Just look at that jack/port in the middle. Looks alot like Li-On Ports for devices I have. (Purely speculation though)

The controller is nice in your hands, but really, fucking batteries?

And everytime I see the system it looks more and more like a G5.

Design wise I like it. Looks pretty cool. I dunno about the white though. I think a nice gunmetal grey would have been preferable.

I just hope this white doesnt yellow like the snes's did.

Not only is it hideously ugly (just like that dell) but it's not even that much smaller! And betteries!?

Sony has the edge now.

I openly admit out of the three design aesthetics, I like the Sony PS3 the most...even if it does look vaguely like a foreman grill. (and mind you, I despise the PSP and PSX designs)

The Nintendo Revolution looks a bit bland, but I do still lkike it for its tininess.

Sigh.
So its hardly any smaler than the Xbox - great.
Well good luck trying to sell the thing in Japan (talk about not learning from experience).
And, I know I'm a bit late saying this, but wouldnt it have been a decent idea to swap the right analogue stick for a trackerball of some kind - y'know, given the popularity of FPS games on the Xbox?

Just a thought.

Same here.

I can't wait till someone hacks it. Would make a fantastic emulation machine.

I like the design of the machine, and the controllers look greatly improved, IMO. They seem more streamlined and just tighter and more refined all around. It really is a shame that it's so big though ... I'm afraid this will spell doom for M$ in Japan.

Anyway, thanks for the pics - very nice.

Hopefully i won t play Crazy Taxi 1 on that, so the right triggers should live (broke numerous DC pads right triggers with that game) :)

Anyway don t worry, there should be Ni-Mh rechargable battery pack in there, Nikon uses the same stuff in its digicame (rechargable batteries with the shape of AA packs).

edit: btw, in the final design, where is the big X ? don t tell me they meant the round (power button) is a 360dg circumvoluted X :)

Who cares that it uses AA batteries? I have quite a few sets of NIMH AAs and they last a long time, and will recharge up to 1000 times. Screw wasting money on alkalines, the NIMH batteries work just fine . . . and if a Lithium Ion option comes out, would be even better. No big deal all around . . . how did you honestly expect the controllers to work, since they are wireless? By gyroscopes?!?!?!

(P.S. -- No, gyroscopes are reserved for the amazing Revolution controller, which Miyamoto is still trying to pull out of his ass . . . :kekeke: )

I actually like how it looks.

I'd buy one right now, given the chance. A network media player is something I had been considering buying, anyway, and XBox 360 will add the ability to play PGR3. :)
