Hi,

I have had some mixed success using yahoo auctions japan, but at the moment i am having some real trouble trying to find items. As some of you may know, i have been trying to find a copy of "Powered Gear" for the CPS2.

I have tried searching for it using YAJ, but i seem to be getting an error page that i cant understand. (i have a very limited ability to read japanese)

Also, I have seen a website called otaku ya! http://otaku-ya.swee.to/ has anybody used this?

Cheers

Hey, another fellow Australian member!

Avoid using otaku-ya, I have used him before in the past and had a few problems with him. Firstly apart from his rudeness and arrogance he actually did something that really annoyed me.

Basically I bought a Japanese XBOX through him and when it arrived the packaging was half destroyed and the console dead. I told him about this and his response was something along the lines of "Otaku-ya not responsible for product once ship". Basically after a few emails back and forth he refused to help me get money back via insurance through EMS and was rude about the whole issue. So I lost money on paying for an XBOX plus shipping.

Avoid him, that is all I can say.

Well, if you want Powered Gear, you can always buy from Coin Op Express.

You can try and use Rinkya to search. They have an English search, though it can be limited. They also run a service allowing you to buy off Yahoo Japan, though it can be pretty expensive as they use a custom, greatly skewed in their favor, exchange rate.

Right now I use Shopping Mall Japan for my YJ Auction needs. They use a custom rate as well, it's just not nearly as bad as Rinkya's. Their shipping and shit tends to be cheaper as well. Since you're in Australia, be sure to tell them to keep your items in Japan until you are ready to have them shipped.

The other service I've used is Masato. Totally kick ass service. They are a little more expensive than using SMJ, but the service they give out is top notch.

And don't use Celga. I bought from them once and will never buy from them again. I had an auction damaged and when I tried to collect on the EMS insurance, they were a pain in the ass and never turned my paper work in. Basically I got stuck with a $500 bill and a broken item.

The error you are likely getting is that your item can't be found. Try finding a Kana version of the Powered Gear name. Klov has the kana version of the name, the problem is that it's a picture and not text.
