Hello to you all! I've got a question that I'm sure has been answered somewhere down the line, but it's still a good question. I'm thinking about getting a better multimeter, and I'm not quite sure which one to get... I want a good multimeter that can do pretty much all the functions necessary to troubleshoot power supplies and pcbs (mostly jamma and mvs), but I don't want to spend a fortune on it... any models come to mind? Thanks.

By a Fluke and buy it from a hardware store and not a electronic store.

I reckon flukes are over rated and over priced (maybe not in the states) I had a #87 untill it was stolen, now use a Bryman which I find as good as/better than the fluke and a fraction of the cost.

Buy a analog one, just kidding. You should get one that has a auto ranging feature. The one I have has the works, it performs the job of a regular digital multimeter with a built in scope meter. Cost me 250

I got this Metex multimeter from Jameco and it's awesome. Lots of capability including resistance, capacitance, temperature, voltage, current, diodes, and tons of stuff I still haven't figured out. For $100, quite nice.
