God of War..is it worth the $50 new price tag?

I am interested in buying this. I have however found it difficult to even find a used copy yet, so....

Should I just go ahead and spend the $49.99 price.

I do have a $20 credit at EB now anyways so it wouldn't be that much out of pocket.

Yeah, I'd say go for it. Very well made action/adventure title. Better combat than DMC or Ninja Gaiden, puzzles that vaguely resemble Zelda or Prince of Persia.

Even at 30 I don't think it's worth the price. It's a decent game but I don't get the hype for it. Ninja Gaiden is better and so is DMC3 which weren't worth 50 either.

no console game is worth $50, none of em, you can buy them used the next day

after they are released for $35 on ebay, because of the bootleggers

I think you're playing the wrong type of games. Go for it man for $30, it's a steal.

I disagree, I definitely think Forza Motorsport is worth $50 and I also feel that Resident Evil 4 is worth $50.

God Of War is one of the best titles I've played in a long time, hands down.
There hasn't been another action-adventure title that mixes combat, platforming, and exploration the way this one does. There's a lot of different attacks, finishing moves that help power up your character in very useful ways, effective magic, and very cleverly designed puzzles. The first time I fired it up, the whole first level gave me that old-time joyful buzz, not unlike the first time you may have tried Castlevania or some other well-worn classic. A lot of people like to hate on it because of the fact that it comes from SCEA, but that shouldn't matter to a true hardcore gamer. A real hardcore gamer doesn't care about the politics of who makes a console or game, that gamer just wants the best games he/she can find no matter what it's on.
God Of War is just plain fucking awesome.

How many other games can you score in a threesome, anyway?
Easily worth the dough, no questions asked.

It's most certainly worthy of your $20 in credit plus $30 cash, hell yes. The combat is extremely well-tuned, the story is great (especially well-told at the end), best graphics on PS2 (well, maybe tied with GT4), excellent soundtrack and voice acting.

Threesome mini-game.

Plenty of gameplay. I think it took me somewhere around 14 hours to beat it on normal difficulty, and then it unlocks God Mode (hard as hell, supposedly, you die in one or two hits on most bosses) and a couple other cool new play modes.

Very cool ending.

Really, I can't think of much bad to say, other than that there are a few points near the end that can get frustrating.

Get it if you have even the slightest taste for action games.

you miss the point, the quality of the game does not dictate the value of the

game, forza motorsport and resident evil 4 might worth $50 combined, i bought

god of war about 2 days ago for $26.50 on auction, and thats what its worth. in

another 2 months, that game will be worth $15 dollars maybe, this is the

information generation, people know better not to pay $50 dollars + tax for a new

game.

Why because I don't like an overrated DMC clone. I mean it was pretty good but I'd wait for a price drop on it it's been out a while now. I still liked DMC3 better but that's just me.
