Hi all

I´m going to NY for a month starting on July 9. Now that I am finally 21, I´d like to know where to go at night. I am looking for dance clubs and discos mainly, in Manhattan. I think it´s gonna be hard, but not overpriced, if it´s possible.

BTW, how much is booze in the US? For example, a Vodka bottle to drink before going into the club.

Thanks

i don't think those are even real bars, but if they are, they're gay bars... :loco:

i don't really go to "dance clubs" cuz i can't stand the jersey/long island trash that fills manhattan every weekend, but i can tell you where some cool bars are...

just go to ludlow street south of houston st. cool bars here are plentiful. max fish, dark room, etc. hipster crowd, but fun.

lit on 2nd ave between 5th and 6th st. on the west side of the street is cool. it gets super crowded on the weekends, but it alright.

happy endings on broome st. is fun for awhile. it used to be a massage parlor...hence the name.

cake shop which just opened on ludlow is getting rave reviews, but i haven't been yet. i'll probably try to check it out this weekend.

BROOKLYN

if you want to check out brooklyn, take the L train to bedford ave. and there's tons of shit around.

royal oak at union and n.11th st. i hate this place, but you should probably check it out at least once. it looks like a j.d. salinger book come to life. the guys that own this place also own a place called sweet-ups which is a mellower version of royal oak.

union pool on union ave. is a cool place. you can meet a girl and make out with her in the photo booth. if you've got a european accent of any kind, it shouldn't be too much trouble ;)

barcade also on union is great for the video game nerd/booze hound. they have about 20 80's arcade machines, pool, darts, and tons of beers on tap. i hate beer, but people tell me they've got a good selection.

these are good places to start. while in nyc you should check 'em out at least once. you'll find others.

have fun.

*a bottle of GOOD vodka will run you about $30.

You're from Spain, eh?

Ok, stick to the "Meat packing district" in lower manhattan - it's not what it sounds like (not gay). That's where all the hot clubs are now. Spice Market, Lotus, Le Souk are all solid.

Harrisburg in Brooklyn is also a fun ass place to chill.

Thanks. Do they require formal clothing?

How much is the average price?

If your into house music clubs The Shelter is an awesome place, try and go when Timmy Regisford is on, he's a genius.

Also if you're there on July 3rd something very special is the Loft run by an absolute legend David Mancuso.

It's such a shame Body and Soul has finished :(
