Will I be protected by paypal if I use the funds in my paypal account to pay for an auction?

Can I just add more money into the account, or will they charge a percentage?

You have to ship to a confirmed address to be protected, and (in some cases) purchase the PayPal Buyer Guarantee (or whatever it's called).

Also, you won't have any money taken out for sending payment; the buyer loses a percentage for accepting the payment, however.

Does that answer your questions?

Ah. Yeah, as I recall, you can transfer funds from your savings/checking account to "charge" your PayPal fund.

Let me check really quickly.

EDIT: Yep, there's a tab right on the main page of your account to add money to your PayPal account from a bank account.

A few things:

If you need to send more money than you have available in your paypal account, it will take it out of your checking account or credit card (whichever you choose) when you send the payment. No need to import funds then send payment... it can all be done at one.

Paypal has never protected me under any circumstances. The only time I got my money back from a bogus transaction was when I had used a credit card and called VISA to nix the payment.

My buddy uses hammersnipe and loves it.

However, you have to give them your ebay ID/password (obviously). Uh, I'd rather not give out my passwords for people to access my credit and other personal info through My Ebay.

That's nice I like that it will auto-draw.

I'm a little leery about giving my account out too...

HammerSnipe is great. I have used it for a few years now and have had nothing but good experiences with it. I wouldn't worry too much about giving out your information, since there's not much they could do with it that you wouldn't be able to see them do, anyway.

So, I've found some cheap stuff in the UK... Should I pay in Pounds or US dollars? I remember back when we were gathering money for boog some European members donated and were charged a conversion fee...
