No Demo sound

I am pretty new to all this but here goes. I just bought a candy cab and my friend let me borrow a MV-1F PCB board. Games work fine, no problem. I just bought a MV-1FZ PCB board, and I get no demo sound with it. The begining intro and the computer playing has no sound. But as soon as I insert a coin it makes a sound, and the game has full music. I hit test and made sure the demo sound was on, it is. This happens with every game I put into the board, no demo sound but full game sound. I tried swapping bios' with my friends, and his still had the demo sound. I then turned the demo sound off with his board in and the sound went off, so I know turning it on or off through the test menu works. The volume on my board is up, cause I can hear the game fine when im playing it, just nothing during the intro to games. Any suggestions?

other than the usual make sure the game / board is clean, and the music is turned up (you said it was) then i say double check the test mode. (check hardmvs.com for info) Every game has the option to turn demo sound on. make sure you didnt turn the sound on SS1 and then try SS2 or something. everything else ok with your mobo? (is it saving high scores?)

Test mode>Setting up the Soft Dip>Setting up the Cabinet>Demo Sound ON

This is the main setting for the cab itself. You can set each game individually, but you should put this dip to ON. I think that should fix your problem.

Yea I made sure demo sound was on in the test mode. Still nothing. When I use my friends board, theres sound. Maybe the part on the board that gets plugged into the jamma harness is dirty? Can I clean that lens like I would a regular MVS Cart?

No, its dips if the sound suddenly starts working. You made sure the sound was on in the games soft dips or the cabs' soft dips? 2 dips, one for the cab, one for the game.

Nevermind I got it. Didn't realize under setting up the soft dip there was an option to set up the cab, thought I was only able to select whatever game I had plugged in and customize that game :loco: Thanks for your help guys. :D
