And it was pretty good. Definitely better than the first two. The special effects were amazing probably the best i've ever seen. The acting was passable and not nearly as bad as some made it out to be. I really enjoyed the cities digitally rendered but they were a little hard to take in since they showed them so quickely.

final verdict 5>6>4>3>1>2

The film was blasphemy of the highest order.

For me the film was ruined when Mace was going to strike down Palpatine when palpatine was defenseless. I guess we can just throw out the whole Jedi code, mace windu sure did. The Jedi are only good when it suits them?

Anyone else find it strange that one of the most respected and learned Jedi was going to do the very same thing the emperor told Anakin to do in the begining of the film (killing Count Dooku for being to "powerful"). The fact that Anakin was the voice of reason in the Windu-Palpatine battle is absurd. I cheered when Windu died, had he not been killed i would have jumped into the screen and choked that bitch to death.

We all should have known since episode 1 that Mace Windu was a fucking faggot. I mean all the signs were there even the purple lightsaber.

But then again i'm just one more jaded fan.

I think that was the point. Palpatine was trying to show the hypocracy of the Jedi way. But Palpatine was never defensless. He killed the others like it was nothing, and he would have killed Mace like it was nothing if Anakin wasn't there. Like he says when Mace gets his hands chopped off: "Unlimited power..."...so it's not like he was out of juice or anything. he wanted Anakin to get his hands dirty so he couldn't turn back.

Welcome to the club, at the end and for the whole night, I had my guts upsidedown. I think it's one of the best films I've ever seen. I'm sure of it. It's a pure masterpiece in all it's magnificence. (personnal opinion here)

I think being an American diminishes one's enjoyment of the newer Star Wars.

Mace Windu is a player hater, plain and simple.

Why can't people swallow that Mace kicked Palpatine's ass? Now when he stopped it, it was obvious he was playing possum for Anakin, but he really was in trouble.

Anyway the Jedi can kill, they just "prefer not" to. What did Yoda say after viewing the Temple security footage, we must kill/destroy the sith or something didn't he?

Palpatine had just got finished killing 5 or 6 Jedi, right? I wouldn't call that defenseless. I was just upset that Mace didn't turn his ass into chopped liver, but I guess we all knew that wasn't going to happen.

What hypocrisy of the Jedi way? If one truly followed the Jedi code and was faithful to the order there is no hypocrisy. While it would seem the Jedi should arguably be pacifists they are not - they defend the weak, they never strike back unless attacked first, and they sure as hell don't strike down old men lying on the floor with no lightsabers, even if palpatine was the dark lord of the sith.

I just disagree, while Palpatine was the sith lord his true powers lies with the force, not with a lightsaber. The same goes for Yoda, while both palpatine and yoda know how to wield a light saber their true strength lies with the force. It's like in Knights of the Old Republic - you can chose your character to be adept in the force through attunement and combat readyness or through wielding the force as a weapon/tool (choke, lightning, push, speed, jump, etc). The true battle between Palpatine and Yoda was fought in the senate hall via the force.

The fact remains that Palpatine was was no match for Windu in lightsaber combat and it showed. Windu had Palpatine defeated. Windu died because he in fact did make the decision to do the wrong thing.

Anakin was not defending Palpatine by saying "dont kill him, he needs to be tried" he was defending the Jedi Code, which would never allow for a Jedi to strike down a man in cold blood like that.

That's my fault the way I worded it. I didn't mean the Jedi code, but palpatine was trying to convince Anakin of the hypocracy of the Jedi Council...that they talk a good game, but when it comes down to it, they do what is convenient for them (his argument).

He builds that argument up through the whole movie, saying how the Jedi are afraid to lose their power as much as anyone, that they want to grab control of the Senate for themselves, etc....basically that they are essentially not any different or better than the Sith. Of course, Palpatine has manipulated them into a position where they are pretty much forced to prove his point. By the time of Ep 3, the Jedi have been moved into a lose/lose situation.

Like you said, Palpatine's main weapon was the Force, so he was never "disarmed" at all. he was never helpless.

And Anakin was not defending the Jedi Code. That was an excuse to himself (that Palpatine provided for him), so he could justify selling the entire universe down the river for his own personal needs. What he was defending was his slim hope that the Dark Side could save Padme. The last thing (or one of the last things) he says before cutting off Mace's hands was "I need him".

I can see where you're coming from. I think we can both agree that Palpatine is definitely one evil mofo. The only part of the new trilogy i enjoyed was Palpatine, the way he manipulated the entire conflict was evil genius.

It's really a positive message...One man with a dream. The entire universe can be all nice and happy and peaceful and whatnot for a thousand years, and it just takes one really motivated motherfucker to jack it up for everyone.

It's the power of the human spirit.

i know it's terribly off subject, but i watched butterfly effect
and it got me interested in chaos theory, read some of it on the net.
i'll probably hunt down a book on it or something later.
but i kind of think it's true. one little thing can set off a whole set of events.
but i have different beliefs and philosophies about that kind of stuff.

I saw Episode 3 last night for the first time, and i have to say, i was really impressed by the battles, and over all presentation of the movie.

The acting was sometimes contrived and cheesy, but what do you expect?

I have to say, i liked episode 2 more than this one, but 3 certainly did a good job of tying up the loose ends and bringing it around full circle.

i wish cg was never invented....(flame away)
