Post the letter here lols.
was what you actually typed littered with "f-bombs" or was it more like a critique?
It was a bit of both. I was really frustrated with the way things were going with them and I decided to show how much I felt with them. Lemme tell you all what I typed (from what I remember):
I'll probably get banned for this but who cares. I can't believe the level G4 has stooped to with the shows that have been on this station lately. After finding out Comcast bought Tech Tv, I figured I'd give them a chance because I usually do not like mergers and monolopys; mergers always have terrible results like the time the WWF bought WCW and ECW and monolplies kill the competition thus hyping up whatever product they have while raising the price (like EA gaining the rights to use the NFL). To the point, I really cannot stand G4 for what it is. Tech Tv was a station that everyone could enjoy if you were into electronics and I was. Thanks to Tech TV, I was able to fix my problems with my cpu and I learned things both my dad and I never knew you could do with a cpu. The only reason I stayed so long is because of G4tv.com (I thank you Laura, Tina, and Geoff for that conservation we had a little while ago; I won't hold you three responsible).
G4 is the MTV of video games; they show so many craptacular shows but have only one good one. That good one is X-play but looking at it now, it's becoming crappy too. Even when they first moved to L.A. everything was still cool because they had a good chunk of the San Fran cast that wrote and produced the show. But after a while, most of the people that made the show left like the Disembodied Voice (f*ck that lame monotone sounding announcer) and the interns (some of the L.A. interns are cool but they don't have that same vibe as the San Fran interns). What's starting to get annoying with X-play is the damn puppet. Sure, he's good for a few laughs every once in a while but he get's on my damn nerves when he keeps saying "suck it" and "bitches". I still respect Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb for what they do; they were my motivation for entertainment writing. I just hate to see them go through stuff like this just to entertain the fans; it feels beneth their characters.
I just found out that Kevin Rose left G4 and went back to San Fran to do his own gig. If I assume right, he was probably tired of what was going on at G4 as well. What I'm mad about is how G4 bought out a company and left the people who made it out of a job. I know this is the rule of the corporate jungle but this is something that's out of my league. Bitching and complaining on the internet wont do me a got damn thing but I just wanted to vent out some frustration on this company. A company that has 12 year olds as its target source yet have immature content that doesn't even relate to gaming all that much. If G4 was really television for gamers, they would actually talk about gaming and not make people who love and work with electronics feel like geeks. The only good show on G4 is Icons because they actually talk about games, the history behind them, and the people who make them and play them. Crap like Attack of the Show tries to mix gaming and technology but to no avail makes me want to watch it because it's about keeping the trend making people who don't have the latest I-pod feel weak and uncool. Videogame Vixens is just plain sad because who the fuck wants to look at pixilated women and get a hard on to them? I saw it for about five minutes and changed the channel because it was just stupid. I saw they had Seanbaby and Joy Giovanni (WWE diva) and I'm sure they were thinking "WTF is this?"
Anyway, I just wanted to show how much I hate G4 or G$ and vent out some frustration on how much I hate how this station was so good (and high ranking in the tv ratings I might add) in the beginning and then turned into a softcore porn station that's animated (They take off Unscrewed but put VGV on instead?). F*ck you, G4. I hope this station burns to the ground but I hope you don't take any of the Tech TV people with you.
