My car was broken into again

Seriously, this is bullshit. My car has been broken into for the second time in less than six months. This time the driver's side window was smashed. I don't understand this. There's nothing in my car worth stealing. All they took was some loose change I had on the dashboard and a PS2 DVD remote. The change didn't even add up to a dollar, it was mostly pennies and maybe a few nickels. The PS2 remote probably doesn't even work anymore, it has been baking in my car for about a week now. I meant to take it to GameStop to see if I could trade it in but forgot all about it. I have no idea why my car was singled out. It's an '87 Civic and I'd say the car itself is barely worth stealing. I haven't put any money in it other than shit needed to keep it running. The paint is faded in most parts, and hell, beisdes the windshield and other winows, I don't really wash it all that often. So now I'm sitting here waiting for someone to call me about replacing the window. This really fucking blows.

Look into finding a sticker, one of those security-system sticker things you can put on your window.

Do you live in the 'hood or around a bunch of teenagers or what?

I drive old beaters (I swear by them). Seems you do too to some extent.

Sorry to hear that. I know Honda's are targeted for theft, but not break-ins necessarily.

I live in a fairly decent neighborhood and I never hear about shit like this happening to any of my neighbors. It's going to cost $192 to replace the window. I have the money for it, but fuck, I was planning on getting a new compressor soon. This will definately set me back on doing that.

It's almost as if I'm reading my own post from a few years ago. People do stupid shit just to do it. The cost of the window... man, I know what that's like. I'm so sorry to hear about this. :(

I don't want to sound like an ass for giving out advice, but I had my window smashed in my pontiac a few years back. The local glass place's estimate was $600 to replace it (it was a LeMans, a Daewoo/Pontiac/Opel frankenstein).

I bought the glass at a salvage yard for $75 and had it installed for $50. Salvage yards are great places to buy auto glass depending on if they crush their vehicles or not.

I figured I could find a cheaper price if I really hunted around, but I don't have the time to do it. Plus I am pretty much stranded at home right now because of this. The sooner it gets fixed then the better.

He had a (working?) PS2 remote and >$1 in change. Not remotely worth stealing in my eyes.

Someone stole your eyes, I see?
