I'm so glad that Capcom decides to bring arcade perfect (hopefully.....) port to Capcom Classics Collection disc later this year.

PC Engine SCD was my first time playing this game and I was addicted to it. Excellent music with lack of parallax scrolling backgrounds. Later I bought Genesis version but it misses two levels from the original. So far PC Engine SCD port is still the best, IMO.

Love those wacky dialogs.........make me laugh all day long :D

Didn't this game have a Rotary stick?

Hardly arcade perfect.

Both Genesis/Mega Drive and Duo versions fall short of the arcade game unfortunately.

Genesis
-----------
Several stages and cut scenes were taken out due to limited cartridge memory

Turbo Duo
--------------
No 2 player mode. However, there is a "2-player mode" trick. Player 2 can control the satellite option.

I rekkon the PS2 analogue can simulate the rotary enough to be good.

It was a special button... not really rotary. It used an 8 way to control your character's movement, but for your weapon there was a metal knob you could spin around to aim and push down upon to fire.

If capcom is not a total loss, they'll figure out you can do the same effect with the 2 analog knobs on their controller... probably the 2 knobs for character/weapon control and a shoulder button to fire, with the option of using just the two knobs (and pressing in the second knob to fire).

Yeah Forgotten Worlds is one of those games that I'll never stop loving, though it has become more or less forgotten by the masses. I always like the game a bit more than I did the other flying man outings by CAPCOM like "Section Z" or "Side Arms" too. *Even with the few stages missing I remember that game was impressive upon seeing it the first time on the Genny back in 1990.

Forgotten Worlds is one of my favorite arcade games way back when.... I would blow alot of money on it just to get far but I never got good at the game. The Duo is definitely the best version out there but this conversion will be the best (not counting mame of course).

Ok I remember now. It was a standard stick plus a Spinner.

Yeah it could be done quite well on a PSII pad. But certainly not perfect.

Hell I have been playing Smash TV. Even with the Dual shock, it doesnt' feel the same. I guess smash TV would be perfect since you can wire up the Dpad and face buttons to a pair of twin candy sticks.

As for my opinion on my "favorite port" of it so far it's Genesis>PCE ;)

That picture reminded me....

Here's a fun trivia fact.

In the Tupac Shakur movie Juice, during the scene where Omar Epps is playing Street Fighter 1 in the pizza parlor where hooky playing high school students hang out, a Forgotten Worlds cabinet can be seen right next to SF1.

Thanx to those games being in the movie, Capcom has been mentioned in the ending credits in the special thanks bracket.
