I say take the job. Never worked as a car salesman myself, but I had a friend in high school who ended up as a saleman at the local Ford dealership by the time he was about 21 or so. He was quite good at it, apparently- actually sold several different cars to my mom's best friend.

He made pretty solid money and seemed to like the job.

Assuming you like people in general and have at least a modicum of sincerity, I'd say give it a shot. Just don't go pulling a Larry David on Season 2 of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Especially being high-end like that, seems like it would be a good place to work.

LOL, you did buy your car from a Toyota dealership I imagine, right? I don't know about anywhere else but the Toyota dealers around here are THE most obnoxious out of all car dealers.

I still love Toyota, but can't stand the dealers around here.

Yeah, but I also used to work for a care dealership. :kekeke:

Last summer I took a trip to Florida. On the drive down I stopped at every Toyota dealership on the map looking for xBs. I loved getting the salesmen's hopes up.

LOL, Toyota gave me the keys to test drive a Corolla XRS like as soon as I showed some interest in it. They didn't take my license, information or anything. :p

you can make decent money if you're good.

If I had to (I'd prefer not to but am not mortally opposed) I'd prefer to work for a luxury brand like BMW, Lexus, etc. The customers who come in are often interested in the car and you're less trying to sell them on something. My Volvo dealer was easy to work with because, as he noted, people who look at Volvos are generally more interested in the actual car than someone looking on a GM lot.

Used Car sales are definitely not for me (although their euphemized brethern in the "Pre-owned" circuit at major dealers are a little better).

The other bonus is you can often get great deals on vehicles, depending on the dealer.

The only group of people that are slimier than personal injury lawyers are car salesmen. Some of them can actually reach orgasm simply by fucking an 80 yr. old out of 7 grand on a shitty car.
